My opponent has a row of knocked down dwarfs from my first charge. If I get priority (or heroic move), can I move my calvary back and immediately re-charge in this next move phase? The MoM rulebook implies that I can, saying, "If a knocked down unit is charged...)---how can a unit get knocked down except by a charge, and who would leave a unit on the ground if two move phases were required to re-charge?
Seems like a newbie question, hence I ask it here and not in the Rules section.
Thanks

Yes you can. There is only charging, not re-charging. Keeping track of who charged who in the last turn would be a nightmare.

So....once his shield wall is knocked down, he can't stop me from backing off and charging again, and again? If he gets priority, and I call Heroic Move...can he call his own Heroic Move...and what then? His spear support could charge me before I can get away...?

You have to deal with each turn on its own, at the state in which the models are when you start the turn. What happened previously is of no consequence in terms of limiting what you can and can't do. Each turn is a fresh start.

So, of course he can't stop you from charging each turn. How could he? (And you don't have to "back off" to charge, other than the normal backing away after the fight is resolved.)

If he gets priority and you call a Heroic Move and he counters, then that's dealt with in the Heroic Moves section of the rules. Basically it's a roll-off, and if he wins then yes he can charge you before you can get away. That's the danger of using cavalry...if they get caught on the counter-charge they're basically very expensive warriors.
