Hi guys.

Does anybody think they will re-release the rules for SBG?

They do it to Warhammer fantasy every now and again, and I was wondering if they will do it for SBG.
I'm sure they could fix up some of the existing rules and make some new ones.

I love SBG and am not really into WOTR and I don't want them to give up on SBG.

Thoughts?

I totally agree with you here, and prefer SBG over WoTR. They could update the rule book, but adding any new minatures for SBG looks unlikely. They're main focus is now WoTR :-X Won't stop me playing anywhoo

I think an update for SBG is necessary, but even more so for WotR. If there was an SBG update, I'd like to see some improvements for Rohan.

I'm another dedicated SBG player here but we have to be realistic, GW have turned their attention to WotR now so don't get your hopes up. That said I would love an update with all the new profiles in it and yet to be released ones like in the WotR book.

Yeah, updated profiles would be great. There are heaps of characters and warriors that aren not in the main rulebook.

I hope that they release SBG profiles to all these countless heros and warriors that are being released for WOTR.

I think WOTR needs an update since it has so many loopholes in the rules and unclear thoughts. But hey, its a new game and things like this will always happen. but SBG is fine IMO and dosn't need one, I htink some profiles should be updated to accompany the stat creep but the actual rules are fine.

The core rules are very sound, even after all this time, but I agree with Sticky Fingersss. Many of the newer releases have resulted in stat creep which has thrown many armies out of balance. This could be fixed very easily though...

When you say stat creep, do you mean that the new models seem to be more powerful than average?

Or do you mean that there are just heaps more stats now.

I mean that the old "standard" profile was Fight 3, Strength 3. This was your basic warrior. Fight 4, Strength 4 was an elite trooper, and there weren't many of those by comparison. Now, those numbers have crept up and up, leaving the old armies underpowered and the new models undercosted. They all just need to be re-balanced.

I fear SBG is a relic of days gone by; though I wish it wasn't so. :(

Perhaps you could give a hint. At the very least, does it relate specifically to SBG or WotR?

Do I need to spam your FB to get you to talk?? I wouldn't do that, but speaking of which I would go and block some of your apps because it did a spam post/status yesterday..I know, completely off topic).

As for re-releasing SBG,if they do nothing for the hobbit(which I doubt) then we're all screwed and and our beloved game will become much like LOTR TMG(both LotR mini games with pretty sound rules with a select target audience that already uses a Forum for their addiction of the hobby). But to quote Gandalf again(I think) "Have hope"

they might do another SBGM to tie in with the hobbit and tweak the existing rules off the back of that. Perhaps a Hobbit and LOTR SBG rulebook in one ?

Most of the encounters in The Hobbit would work well as SBG scenarios (except the Battle of Five Armies), so I'd be surprised if we don't see a new rulebook and hopefully even a boxed game around the time the first movie is released.

Most of the encounters in The Hobbit

I don't have any idea what GW will do, However, we know the encounters in the Hobbit. I am going to be ready with Goblin Town, Lake Town and Mirkwood terrain and I will be ready to play.
