Definitely, they look great 8) We all have a lot to learn with different skills but just keep painting and experiment with different things and you will get better. I suggest trying out the GW washes first because they will add some more realism to the models. But yes keep persevering :)

The models look great. I think just getting the bases done (a little sand, wash/drybrush with some browns and greens and then a little static grass if you like) will make them jump out nice. You definitely have a steady hand and good eye for the details. Dive into a box of rank-and-file troops to build your experience and confidence up and then do another Hero.

Are you going to be a player as well or just focusing on the painting side of things?

Originally I was just going to paint but I had a few practice games with my wife and I cant believe how much I enjoy it. I've got plans now for a Gondor army and a Harad army since I'd like the challenge of a mumak at some point. So I've got some warriors of minas tirith and some Haradrim lined up ready to paint. Looking forward to being an active member of this site!

Great to hear that you are getting your family involved :)
Will you be posting a WIP topic in the forum? You'll get a load of helpful tips from the people on here and as you say we are a nice friendly community.
I'd love to see your gondor army.

Those models look great mate, especially for a first attempt. Here's a handy tip for you : Once completed give your models a even coat of Spray-on Matt Varnish, this will help to remove the "shiny" effect caused by ink washes and will help to tie all the colours together. This is a new technique I myself have just started using and I couldn't believe the difference it makes.

Happy Painting mate, and Welcome to the One Ring. :D

Hi Talset, welcome to the One Ring.

Definitely keep going with your painting - you're showing a lot of promise already and you'll get better with every model you paint.

Definitely carry on. I can tell that the figures are painted by someone new-er to the hobby, but at the same time they are very good for your first couple of figures. As others have said your attention to detail really caught my eye. You are already doing eyes, some people still don't do them after a couple of years in the hobby. You have some highlighting going on which is also good. I also really like gandalfs beard. The grey with hints of brown underneath looks great, suerb job on that. So keep up the good work, and hopefully we can see some more of your stuff in the wip forum sometime.

The models look great! Much much better than my first attempts. It doesn't matter how well you paint. The main thing is that you enjoy yourself. If you are having fun then keep going. If it becomes a chore (or causes arguments with your wife when you kick her b**t on the gaming table...) then maybe.... :puppy:

I really like the face on Gandalf. If you can do that right from the start then you clearly are a natural. You simply need some experience to get the effect you want out of your painting. SBG is a lot of fun, much more than I imagined it to be when I first started playing.
