URGENT!!! Tolkien book covers :shock:

Im redesigning The Hobbit book cover for a university project. If you people could tell me or direct em to somewhere where i can find the information. I want to know what makes a tolkien book cover a tolkien book cover? If his name isnt on the cover how do you know it is by him? What do you exoect to see on a tolkien front cover? What would you expect on a Hobbit book cover?
Please can you get back asap as the deadline is midnight on friday 8th july 2011 so your opinions are needed URGENTLY!!!!!! :legolas:

Erm...you seem pretty desperate here, and it seems important...

Well Tolkien doesn't obviously do his own illustration and there have been many different versions of both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings produced, all with different illustrators working on the covers.

However, one constant is the tolkien logo, so if you can find a picture of that and include it on your cover, that should at least be a start.

I have a very old copy of the Hobbit with Tolkien's own drawing of Smaug destroying the Lake town on it, so I would recommend something to do with Smaug because he's one of the mosticonic charcters in it and dragon's aren't the hardest thing to draw (Although Tolkien himself is clearly not the best at drawing)
