Been a while since I last posted some work, but holiday is finally here (or at least all the work is pretty much done) and that means some more hobby time.

So, here's the mini I'm working on at the moment, for this months painting challenge.

Lots to do, still, but I'm really enjoying the brush again! wOOt!

Loving the mini, Miguel. The color variation on the leather and overcoat are fantastic! It's great to see you back in the saddle.

Excellent painting so far Miguel! It's great to see your work once again. The face is so realistic! 8)

Great to see you painting again Miguel! Seems like you haven't lost any talent meanwhile!

Love the face, but really like how you did the leatherworks there! Worn out and battered from the figts! Excellent!
Just one thing, sadly enough, something you can't help anyway... the casting of the sword and probably the packing of the mini aswell didn't help to keep the sword straight and sharp (as happens with many figures). But I really like the effect you gave it with the nmm!

:-)

I love the worn out look. 8)
Would you mind sharing how you got the muddy, worn out highlights. :) (mix it with bleached bone?)
And the face just has so much character.

any idea what you are going to do with the base?

Speaking of the sword, I always do mine with metallic paint because I don't like NMM for gaming minis, yet I am never happy with how mine turn out. It's quite frustrating.

Yours does look good, though, Miguel.

Can't wait for GW prices to drop by 80% so I can afford them again! This makes painting tempting again.;)

Good job!

I'm in awe... That's the model from the Fellowship box set is it not? I have it painted and I always thought that the face of the model didn't represent Viggo at all. You sir have just proved me wrong on that. Wow, the quality in painting does make a huge difference.

Every detail has been worked on, even the ring stands out. The smoothing turned out really good, so smooth!

That Aragorn is sublime, I will use him as an inspiration for my Fellowship Aragorn when I purchase him.

That Aragorn could pass for Viggo Mortenson.
