I think this is everyones problem, we waited for these images expecting them to look like the figures GW have created for them, so when we saw PJ's take on them, the majority of people felt dissapointed or let down. What we have to bare in mind is that PJ/Weta are a LOT better at this stuff than GW (look at half of the stuff they made up) so I trust that they will work really well in the movie itself.

it might also be good to note the Balin figure that GW made is Balin when he tried to retake Moria which is years after the hobbit and he has aged and gotten richer because of the events of the hobbit.

I like the swords and I think Thorin looks sweet but I do agree that he should have a bigger beard. The dwarves look so identical in the films that I'm glad that a fresh look has come. Otherwise people will have no idea who is who in the film.

Yeah I think the major complaint with Thorin is the beard.

The new Blog is out and it is wicked!!!!

They show alot more and it has made me warm to the Dwarf designs a fair bit.

That was AWESOME ! As imagend by many I suppose! Personally I think the way he did the dwarfs is just perfect. Still curious about the trolls, BoFA, Smaug, Dol Guldor, Beorn,... Pretty Much actually.
So a lot is clear now, but a lot is still in the dark corners of this world, waiting for a moment to reveal itself...

As I suspected......The dwarves did not fight the trolls! Starting to warm to the look of the film as it looks as if John Howe has had a hand in the design of the Dwarves

I knew Blanchette and Lee were in it (wikipedia can sometimes be very helpful) but I can't help but get terribly excited, particularly the White Council vs Dol Guldor bit.

Now seen the pictures posted Erunion. They do look cheesy on the pics, but waaay better in the new blog.
Still curious about one thing: it seems that every new movie has to include a love relationship being built up. How are they going to fix that in the hobbit (seriously, in the hobbit ?) ? I hope that's not the explanation for Thorins look...

I've always liked the look of the dwarves but they look alot better in the video! Watching it makes me so excited!

btw Bomburs air guitar is amazing.

I'm ok with how the dwarves look from now on. The video makes them look much much better. I feel a sudden rush of long lost 'geek' coming back to me.xD

Will probably be buying miniatures again when they are released. I hope this movie being of smaller scale than LOTR will bring back SBG!
