Thanks Pasi (valpas). Sorry for the slight delay people.

What does Tol-in-Gaurhoth mean and who was its commander?

That's somehow confusing but I finally understand it Raggbur.
Anyway Taur-im-Duinath was in the southeast Beleriand as far as i can remember and it was translated as 'forest between rivers' because it lies between Sirion or GelionGilion or something like that.
Only some of the Avari wandered occasionally there. :-D

Thanks again. This question might sound weird to all those who don't know the answer.

Q) What are Dumbledors?

The Valar summoned a council and asked for 3 Maia to come forward and go to Middle-earth as emissionaries. At first only Saruman (of Aule) and Alatar (of Orome) came forward, offering to go. Manwe wanted gandalf to go and asked where he was, and when he came back, Manwe sent him as the 3rd even though Gandalf argued he was too weak as he feared Sauron. Saruman was forced to take Radagast with him to plase Yarvanna and Alatar brought Pallando as a friend.
