Great work so far. The gaming board is coming along nicely. Are you going to add ruined buildings as well?
Hot wire cutter looks good as well.

Thanks for the comments.

@Cyndra: there will be ruins on this board.
The left side of the board will be civilian and either fully build or in repair (I'm thinking about a house that's only a wooden framework.).
The right side will be military with walls and a gate (there will be 2 gates, one demolished and a "working one") on that side the trebuchets will be between the ruins. (and perhaps a repaired tower).

@Garmenhord: That's an interesting idea, perhaps I'l do that, but first I'll finish the board.

I haven't got a lot done since yesterday, adjusted the wire, got a new power socket in my workshop, done a bit of work on the board and tidied up a bit more.

You have done a very good job with the hot wire cutter. You might want to install a spring on the hot wire because it will stretch when it heats up. Take care with the ventilation. I poisoned my self years ago cutting foam. I have not had a problem sense I discovered poor ventilation of the fumes could be dangerous. Of course new laws have made foam products much safer. But care should be taken. Some people have allergies to ordinary things.
The table looks good. I hope you feel better soon.

I's been a while, but I'm still alive.
School and ilness has kept me from doing much hobby related, but there'll be an update today with a few things.
Next week I have a test week, which are always a bit calmer than an usual week, so i'll have more time and energy to work on the board.
And some time ago I cleaned up the shed :o , so now I can work properly down there.

Wednesday was my birthday and I got some hirst arts molds, which will most certainly help with the tharbad board.
(and I have the idea to build the Notre dame)

For the update I also have a small suprise for you.

Nice to see you around again Aqan. I'm afraid I haven't had much time either but at least our holidays are coming up now. Some moulds for your birthday sounds like the ideal present for a model maker. I for one would be very happy with that. As chestnut says, which moulds? They really are fantastic.

Here's the promissed, yet somewhat delayed update.

@old chesnut, drum :the mold numbers are: 235(roof tiles and details.) 55(arches) and 100 (standard bricks)

I've got a few suprises for you.
first of all: a clean(ish) workspace.
Image Image
Image

And here's my (wip) entry for the one ring awards, the prancing pony.
A lot needs to be done before this model is finished but it gives you an idea.
Sorry for the poor picture quality, but I have very bad light down here.
Image
Image
There are lights inside the inn, so when everything is working you'll see some light through the windows. (and no longer through the gaps in the ceiling  )

Image
Image
Image

And last week I started with the bridge and gate of the tharbad board.
they both need quite a few things before they are finished.

I really like those ornaments with an coat of arms that you can make with the hirst arts mold. (and with a bit of green stuff you can change the arms to represent whatever faction you want.)
As you can see, the sides still need to get detail (I think I'll use brick walpaper and some cardoard for the edges.)
And of course the bridge itself has only got an basecoat.

The gate is only half build as I ran out of bricks.
Image Image

Image

I only just saw that the gate does not stands direcly in front of the bridge, but well let's just call that an tactical decision.

Comments and critisim are most welcome.

As I now have my holiday (it officially starts in one and a half week, but I only have to be there for one hour, next wednesday.) more updates will (probably) follow soon(ish)

Some brilliant terrain aqan! Terrain has always been a part of the hobby I've never been very good at.

I particularly like that bridge, and the Prancing Pony WIP looks great. Can't wait to see it finished :)

Thanks for the comments. :)

@ Wah wing: yes the helmet looks a bit like a German WW II style helmet from the front.

@ Old Chesnut: I made all the plans for the Prancing Pony, But I don't have them any more as they were ruined after a waterpipe broke in my room.
It was based on several paintings, drawings, the discription in the book, the movie and an excellent google sketch up model.

I'll soon post an update.

As usual the update is a bit late, but anyway, here it is.
I was (and am) quite ill, lots of pain, no energy and have a problem with breathing. (the usual stuff  )
And latin takes a bit of my time aswell so everything goes quite slow.

I never really liked gw's swan knights, so I've wanted to convert some for some time.
They aren't finished but here they are.
Image Image
Image
(note: the knight's are still waiting for a bit more of greenstuff, so that's why there are still gaps and why their cloaks look a bit odd.)
Image
they're very much wip (so yes, i saw the brown dot on the grey horse. ), but I would really like some advice on the horses as they've been stripped to many times, so a lot of the detail has disappeared.
(and freehand is not my specialty)
while waiting for the horses to dry I picked up the mantic miniatures I got for free with their newsletter.
I really love the quality of those minis, the only problem I have with them is applying the basecoat (paint doesn't seem to stick on)
And that was after I cleaned them (warm soapy water and then just warm water). Any ideas?
Image
Image
I've also finished the gatehouse (still needs some sand and to be painted though).
And The left wall now has all the timber in place and there's also a wall on the back instead of polystyrene.

Here are a few pictures with miniatures on the board to give you an idea.
Image
Image Image
Image
Image
Image
Once the walls and gatehouse have been painted, I'll start on the stairs behind the walls.

comments and critisism are, as always, very welcome, just bare in mind that all the minis are still very much wip.
