Thanks. Yes Bart, well spotted, the wood grain is 'enhanced' to give some extra depth to the painted model. I normally don't do that on my models, since I quite like the natural grain on balsa anyway. But I am trying a new approach this time to slightly exaggerate the details a bit.

Really nice piece!! - particularly like the horses heads on the roof beams , wish i had the time and patience to do something like that. Lookin forward to seeing more.

Very nice Alan, I really quite like the enhanced wood grain. It will be interesting to see the difference on the final painted model. Great work so far!

So far, it looks impressive (and time-consuming!) Are you going to damage those straight-from-the-wood-store planks, to give them a seasoned look?

Ok, seeing as we live in the same city, I strongly suggest that you teach me everything you know about terrain making. :lol:
