I had a spare Carnosaur and set of Dragon wings laying around, so since I don't care much for the current LoTR dragon sculpt, i thought I'd convert my own.

very first basecoat(s), so lots of work yet to be done....

I love the Carnosaur model! There's a great Carnosaur-to-Dragon conversion in the Bretonnian army book that I really like. I was very disappointed to find that it was a conversion and not available for sale. I Like what you've done with this model, but it just doesn't feel very Tolkien-esque to me. His describing them as wyrms and having long sinuous bodies puts me more in mind of the more snake-like Oriental depictions of dragons. Don't take that as criticism, as there are many interpretations of Tolkien and your vision of his dragons is as valid as the rest!

That aside, it's a nice looking model you've made and I look forward to seeing it finished. Good luck :)

What an excellent idea!!
Loving it!

You should wait a bit longer to paint it, so you can take part in the September monster challenge... ;)
Although, I can imagine a figure like that yells to get a nice coat of paint!

Thank you everyone :)

I thought about waiting to paint it for the challenge, but I just could not wait to start painting it. I was saving it as a reward for finishing half my infantry for my Isengard army. I do have a few other models that I can use for Sept. challenge if it is the Monster.

The dragon is looking brilliant. Just brilliant. I also love the perfect paint job on the scouts. Not a brush stroke out of place. Awesome stuff.
