I'm obviously still working on it, but by the end it should convert between Amon Sul (Weathertop) to Helm's Deep in seconds.

Nice terrain piece you got there - see you have a few helms deep pieces at your disposal. I thought about buying a few when they were released too tho only ended up with the one. Not meaning to be picky but weathertop is Amon Sul i think.

Your not being picky at all, and are definitely correct! Thank you--mind lapse there. And yes I picked up 4 Helm's deep back in the day (one of which I have cut the gate out off so as to have two battlements to add to the outer wall) . . . I have two Minas Tiriths as well (though one remains unopened). I have a lot more painting to do and have to make balance trays for when I change between the two different terrain, as the outer wall of Helm's deep has to lay over several of the rocks that are sculpted into the board. Amon Sul comes right off and that is where the inner wall and Keep get placed. And of course all can be removed and then the sculpted mount just serves as a large hill on the board.

The hill makes a good place for Amon Hen as well.
I regret not purchasing a third Minas Tiriths some times. I did not buy the Amon Sul. I probably should.I also regret not starting a Mitril collection when they first came out.
I am looking forward to more photos. The table is a very good idea.

All I do is Lord of the Rings, and I am admittedly a deep collector.

Me too mate - for my sins - I'm going to finish the entire GW range. Quick question for you - are the mithril miniatures the same scale as the GW?

No they are larger/smaller depending on the line you're looking at. I believe the ones in the background are 35mm.
