Got both rulebooks for SBG and WOTR now, and....
now I rate their
bindings and how well they are printed.
I bought both books brand new in shrink wrap.
WOTR
Just from a superficial viewpoint, the wotr rulebook is really prettier, its so well printed and smells so nice! And it is well bound like a really expensive coffee table book. There is a blue fabric thing that all the pages are stuck unto that seems sturdy. The pages dont move much away from the spine of the book even when its fully open.
The pages and illustrations and photos are all so bright and shiny, it makes my heart swoon then sing with happynesses. ***** 5 Starfys
SBG
The sbg rulebook is not so well bound, it makes a crinkly sound when I open it. The pages are not stuck unto a blue fabric thingee like the wotr book, instead there is a worrying gap between the spine and the pages when i open the book and it looks like only a thin double sheet of paper holds the pages to the inside covers, if you know what I mean. I feel like Harry Potter in Half Blood Prince when he told Hermione he didnt want to give her the alchemy book because that "the binding is fragile".
Also sbg doesnt smell very nice at all. It doesnt smell like an orc, but it smells like a dorky library book.
The pages have a brown parchment look to them, but I dont like it, I prefer the brighter wotr page backgrounds. *** 3 Starfys
So WOTR binding and printing wins for me.
As for actual rules, I havent read WOTR yet, but I think I like SBG rules a lil better at the moment because I wont need a billion minis to play it. But I will keep an open mind as I read WOTR, just cause its such a pretty book. I just wish the SBG was as pretty.
OK, enough of my sillyness,
Hamster out...
