The losing side tests for panic, rolls a D6 and rolls a 1, can you modify that dice roll using might?

Yes. I wouldn't personally since there is still the courage test. I've only seen a formation destroyed from this once and their courage was 2.

So let's say you test for panic and roll a 3. You are now Disordered! So you now take a courage test and pass, are you now steadfast? Because I'm not totally understanding page 50, which says the formation remains disordered until it passes a courage test at THE START OF ITS MOVE PHASE?

You are disordered and you take a courage test to see how many flee the battle and stay disordered. You can become Steadfast from Re-ordering your formation in the move phase (1 chance) or from losing another fight and rolling a 6 on the test. Not too shabby if thats the outcome.

So Let's say your disordered and in the move phase you take a courage test to restore order, and roll in total a 7, do you still there and then remove 3 as casualties? And keep doing that over and over each move phase till you pass?

You remove them once only.

So in the move phase when you fail your courage test, do you just defend with 1 dice per company and in the following turn attempt to regain order then?

If you fail your courage test at the beginning of your turn, you remain disordered so yes only able to defend with 1 dice per company. However, at the end of the second fight if you lose again, you roll the panic test and if you roll a 6 you become steadfast again. Otherwise, you do have to wait until the following move phase to attempt again.
