What were the names of Elros and Elrond's uncles and what happened to them?

Eluréd and Elurín - When Doriath was attacked by the sons of Fëanor they were taken into the woods and left to die of starvation.

'Aurë entuluva!'

Who cried this, how many times did he do that, and what does it mean?

You realise you've been neglecting Tolkien's work lately when you notice you're having an extremely hard time getting the answer right... Time to start reading again, Rueben...

How many Balrogs were there, how many were confirmed killed (ie, Tolkien specifically mentioned that one was slain), and who killed them?

Well, if I recall correctly, Tolkien described hundreds of Balrogs in the war with Gondolin. There Ecthelion slew Gothmog, and later on glorfindel kills another balrog. However, the number of barogs was later reduced to 7 or 8(?) by Christopher Tolkien. In the third age Gandalf slew another Balrog. I guess those are the only Balrogs really mentioned, but as for how many I don't think your question really has a valid answer.:p

Yes, it's quite hard to give the right answer, Tolkien kept changing it all the time. According to the Silmarillion there were about thousand balrogs.
The ones I know for sure (as Amarthadan said):
-Ecthelion slew Gothmog
-Glorfindel killed one
-Gandal kills the Balrog of Moria

But I also remember that it is stated somewhere else that Ecthelion slew three balrogs AND Gothmog, and that Tuor killed five. (not sure about this but I remember I read something like this somewhere sometime..)
So I don't know really what answer you are after. Apart from that it's a nice question. :)

In the more recent version, there were 6 or 7 Balrogs actually, including Gothmog. Gothmog was slain by Etchellion, and Glorfindel and gandalf both slay one.

Actually in the most recent version Tolkien stated that the number of Balrogs was at least 3 and at maximum 7 8)

Correct. Tolkein originally had there be thousands of balrogs, until he decided to make them Maia. Then he reduced it to at least 3, at most 7 until deciding on 7. This means that at most 4 were left at the end of the 3rd age. I would assume that since balrogs are so powerful, and so few, that Tolkien would mention if someone killed more of them. What's interesting is that everyone who killed a Balrog, also died, though 2 of them came back. Your go Gothmog.

Thak you Draugluin, yes that trivia about them also dying is interesting, by the way I'm not sure if you should give it to me because Amarthadan said something similar.

If I am not overuled the question will be; "What 'specail abilities' did Glaurong posses?"

Haha that's ok Gothmog, thanks though.;)

And to answer your question: He was completely flightless, but was able to control (at least partially) the minds of others, like he did with Ninièl. Also, his stench was overwhelming. :P

I would give this to you know but you missed one of the most obvious ones.

And lol at the stench part.

Alright!

During the War of Wrath, the Host of valinor was driven back most notably by a most formidable creature. What creature am I referring to?
