Just popping by to say hi,

Have loved LOTR since I read The Hobbit too many years ago, I have read all the books (but only glanced through the Histories), watched the films etc etc.
Just recently I have started playing LOTR using GW models and a slightly altered version of the Kings of War ruleset by Mantic, which plays great.

I know most of the models aren't painted yet (bad I know but we were eager to play) but here are some image of the first battle, we've played since using an adapted scenario from the Legions of Middle Earth book which was great:

I've also started a 'little project' involving Grond, which I've put up in the terrain section

hi new member on O-R but have been wargaming since the late 1960s useing terry wises hand book on waraming our first LOTR armies consisted of ancients, saxons, normans, mahdis and romans , started playing GW rules using there figures when they first came out but they dont work,its allways frustrating so we changed them but they still dont work as they aimed at selling the most expensive figures,we like you found KINGS of WAR and with only the slightest of changes there great to use so set about collect and painting lots more figures as with these rules this makes it possible

HI gothmogthewerewolf,yes sorry about that i`m not good with computers its taken three days to find this page again this is my first time trying to get involved in posting and was not aware i was introducing myself to the community i was just trying to say how me and grandsons play KOW lotr :oops:
