Wow, great work. I especially like the goblin marauder. (even though I hate the official GW one and wthe whole idea... :? )
The watcher is also impressive. I would enjoy seeing some of those other mini's you mentioned, if you could be bothered to post them?

Why do you hate the official GW one? :) I haven't read what story they made up for it, but these are actually very close to the books. Furthermore, I'm hoping they look sort of like that in the movies.:) ( I would assume they do, if not they have to make new ones by next year already?)

Okay, maybe hate is too strong a word. I dislike it. The whole 'one goblin can't control it, but three can' thing is soooo bad. Like really, they're actually controlling it? While they are using both hands to hold their weapons, and they can stay on with no saddle or harness of any kind? Really? I know that goblins riding wargs/wolves is mentioned in the book. I'm fine with a goblin riding a wolf. But make it one goblin, and give them a bit of a harness and a saddle. Utherwise they are just along for the ride, and hopefully they can stay on their mount, let alone keep the wolf/warg alive for a bit longer while it tears things up.

I think it's also the pose, which is naff, and the price, which is ridiculous even if you only want six, like a normal cav box. :-X

Hmm I seem to remember the goblin/orcs in the hobbit for one had some form of fragile mutual agreement with the wargs. I don't think they actually controlled them.

And yes the paintjob is no less impressive than the sculpting. Making the warg a little longer is such a moodkiller.:(

Hi!

Thanks for the great respone!

@GothmogtheWerewolf:
This is an normal plastic warg. Only the leg and the head had beenrepositioned. Maybe it looks stretched, but it isn't.

As requested here are some of my other scuplts:

My first try of an complete sculpt using FIMO clay: Dwarf Hornblower

Unfortunately I had some problems with propotions.

My second project was an dwarf shieldbearer:

The problem was that I don't used the correct technique for sculpting chainmail. Like painting I had no one how have shown me the right techniques and so I had to find out on myself how each scuplting tools works on clay. But from mini to mini it's getting better and better.

Minis Nr. 3: An elven stormcaller:

It is very hard to spcuplt an realistic face. I still have some problems with them. Therefore I've bought an anatomical drawing book to study faces.

My next project was an rescuplt of the dwarf hornblower:

Dwarf Hornblower & Shieldbearer painted. Since this two minis I don't use an clear primer for finish anymore. Some of the shades where destroyed by the primer.

My last project was an Iron Guard Commando Group: Armatures

First Mini from the Commando Group: Commander

Hornblower:

The biggest problem here is also the chainmail.

Finaly: the Stadartbearer:

Group picture:

For this one i've use an other technique. the Chainmail look much better for me, but's it's still not perfect.

Between the Command group I've also sculpted an goblin Commander with dead dwarf:

Thank's for looking!

Quality work - you should make some casts - I'd buy them 8)

Great work. I definitely think the second hornblower is better. The first one's horn was too large. My favoritew figure from these would probably be the iron gaurd hornblower, I really like this guy's pose. One other question, going from the pictures it looks like you bulked out the armature with GS, then did the actual sculpting with FIMO. Any reason for this? Normally I would expect to bulk out the armature with FIMO (becuase its cheaper, I think  ) and then to do the rest with GS as it is less brittle. Does FIMO dry in the air, or does it have to be baked?

@DMS I'm not sure that you can cast FIMO sculptures, I think it would be too brittle....But that's just total speculation really... :E

Hi!

GS is necesary, brecause pure FIMO dosn't holds on the whire. If you ever have seen an miniature mentor video you will see that the also use GS before sculpting with FIMO.

It is no problem to make molds of FIMO-Sculptings. I've allready made one for the goblin commander. I only have problems to get the bubble out of the Resin. Maybe I will make molds of the iron guard commando. It's always critical to cast minis whitch are similar to other minis.

Ah yes, I learned that clay doesn't stick to plain wire a long time ago when I tried to sculpt an ent....I just forgot about it now!
Good to hear that you can make casts of the FIMO stuff, you have some really cool stuff.

Brilliant sculpts. If you did cast the Iron Guard Command, I'd definitely buy some.

Soectacular sculpting. They fit in well with the official models.

Hi!

After a long time a little update!

Thanks for the great comments.

At the moment I have alot of work, so I only had very limited time for the hobby. But i've tried to sculpt an Rohan Kings Hunter? (I don't know the correct english translation for Jäger des Königs).

It was an test for the special mail of the Hunter. But it is very hard to get an good result. I'm not very happy with the result. So if anyone know an good technique for sculpting the Rohan-mail (not chainmail), please let me know! I have tested several handmade tools, but nothing works okay for me.

Today I've painted the mini:
