Hi all!

Got some questions about the new release from GW about the watcher in the water.

-is the head attached to the body? Or could I just use the head itself without the body (since I don't like it..)
-also, does the base already have the rocky things on it like on GW's site? Or is it just a flat oval base like the one that comes with the dragon/cave drake?
-last question, are the tentacles attached to the model?

If someone got the model, could you please post some pictures before asembled/painted?

if I won't use the body, if possible, only the head, does anyone maybe has a nice alternative, which is more cheap than GW's? 'cause it's quite expensive if I only use the head and tentacles without the body..

Thanks!
Jorn.

You get what you see. Body, base, everything.
I think the army must be separate parts.

I think if you buy this model, you should use the whole. If you watch again the watcher scene, you can see that it has legs.

You can also get the arms from ebay, but then you dont have any head. You have to decide.

Personally I like this model, and I want to get it once. I hope there will be WOTR stat for it.

I did not buy the original Watcher in the Water "tentacles" and made my own creature out of clay: head on base with 2 tentacles attached then 6 individual tentacles each based separately as well. I used the normal rule for the Tentacles. After seeing the new Watcher, I am debating on getting one, but the idea of the Watcher being able to wander around does not appeal to me. The model looks very good though. Let us know how you like playing with the Watcher if you decide to purchase one.

Regards,

Grey Company

This watcher was sculpted by the one rings Ukfreddybear, the tentacles are the standard GW tentacles. There is a similar watcher head available on ebay that is smaller than the one pictured above. The watcher pictured above is on a mumak sized base so is quite large.

Hope this helps 8)

Since the watcher can wander around, you could use his profile for a dragon or something

Thanks Dead Marsh spectre for posting that Watcher. I am green with envy  That is so menacing looking! Mine looks more like the soft teddy bear type that you want to cuddle up to.

Don't go mad trying to outbid whoever it is - I think the guy selling them just does casts of them so there will be another one relisted as soon as that one sells 8)

you might be right, I saw another Grond model too! so if someone's interessted.. (:

Anyway, I won the auction! :D
I'll cost me around 7,50 € not too expensive if you ask me. The tentacles from GW's site costs about three times as much..

Very good quality, although from this distance it looks uncannily like plastic, but so does my Great Beast.

My only gripe with the model is the legs are poorly numbered, and need to be positioned correctly. The tentacles however are nicely numbered.. and then the instructions say STICK THEM ANYWHERE :D

Damn Gw ;)
