It was already high to begin with, and they raised it even further. The whole point of Finecast was to switch from expensive metal to cheaper resin, and what does it do? Raise the prices yet again. GW could have passed on some savings to its customers, using the opportunity to allow them to postpone their annual inflation busting price increases. You know, actually make us feel valued for a change, instead of being made to feel like cash cows on a conveyor belt.

I am so glad I spotted this thread. I was contemplating getting one of these but until they resolve the quality issue, I am not interested. Hot water, hairdryers, radiators? What do they think this is? A hair salon? finecast - because you are NOT worth it!

@Dorth they are attempting to sort out the probelms. Its just there shouldn't've been any in the first place.

At the prices they are charging, they have no excuse for this.

One quick thing.....I always hear this said, that GW switched to resin because resin is cheaper. But didn't they switch to resin because the cost of resin is not constantly going up in price, whereas metal's constantly on the rise?

correctamundo, the prices are supposed to remain stable now for a very long time.

lol I don't think this is actually what you mean at all. Just sayin'

Do you suppose there are enough people looking to make Grond or something who want a team of these things that you could sell one without its attendant orcs? I really want the orcs but I'm not to keen on the beast itself.

I have two Howdahs and two Orc Crews because of the problems, I will convert one Howdah into an Orc Tent, and use some of the extra crew as extra Orc Trackers.

*sigh* I got my Amdur blister...on the mounted model his helmet's left wing was missing, on the foot model it was his right. There are plenty of weird pits and gaps on the Gondor command set too...easily fixed with liquid greenstuff, but...I shouldn't have to!. Nor should I have to drive across town to replace my Amdur blister.

@whafrog, the Amdur problem is a common problem too them, 2 out of 3 blisters of Amdur in my local GW have the same problem.

You should all stop complaining about GW prices you're all lucky you don't live in Australia where it is $66 for a box of commanders and our dollar has been stronger then the Uk's for sometime now (Haven't watched the news for a while so I am not sure where the Australian dollar stands now.) Its all just GW wallet rape and they do it because they can get away with. (Being the only company the produces half decent games and models) But fail cast should've come out at half the price of metal models and then price rises should've been made when they fixed this utterly [word deleted] product.

Sorry about the language but I am sick of hear about people bitching about prices when they are paying one third of the price I and every Australian are paying for models. No offence.

The pound is substantially stronger than the Australian dollar, but the Australian dollar is slightly stronger than the American dollar (thanks a lot Obama). Also, you need to take into account the fact that it costs money to transport anything to Australia, and your minimum wage is more than twice it is in America. Yet your prices aren't twice than the prices that I pay. So me, working at minimum wage (which I am) has to actually have to work more to buy the same mini that you want to, so quit complaining.

I know all about the Australia situation, don't make out that I'm completely ignorant to it. I have actually talked in the past about how much worse it is in Australia. But GW's prices are high everywhere - just because the prices are worse for you, doesn't mean that everything is hunky dory for us. We're getting ripped off too, so why shouldn't we complain?

And you are living in a bubble if you think GW is the only company producing quality games and miniatures. Havn't you ever heard of SAGA? Field of Glory? Warmachine and Hordes? Malifaux? Flames of War? Gripping Beast, Warlord Games, Wargames Factory, Perry Miniatures, Privateer Press, Wargames Foundry et al all produce high quality miniatures for a variety of games (from historical to fantasy to science fiction) at a fraction of GW's price, and most of them are in metal or plastic.

Gamesworkshop is not the Alpha and the Omega. Get out of your box and experience the rest of what is available. Stop playing exclusively in GW stores and join a Gaming club where people play a greater variety of games.

"No offence" you say, then proceed to make offence. A notorious oxymoron.

Things are getting out of hand here... Time for a pint or your local equivalent. Take a deep breath and let's return to the civility and camaraderie that is the hallmark of the OR.
