Hi!

"Build me an army worthy of Mordor"... kinda what this thread is about.
Recently bought 24 Morannon Orc's, 20 Easterlings and a handful of Orc's, and more is pouring in.

I'm also working on a lush green gaming board (not very Mordor-esque, I know), planning on posting pic's of that too ;)

To kick it off: the models Iv'e painted so far :

The workplace (with 10 rangers of gondor on the right... low priority at the moment)

Up next... Morannon Orc's

Thanks! I really like to paint them, quick and easy.
Orc's on the other hand... ugh, all that leather and cloth. At least Morannon is mostly armour ;P

For the Easterling armour dry brushes in this order (over black base coat):
1: Chainmail
2: Mithril silver
3: Shining gold
4: Burnished gold
5: Mithril silver (light)
6: Finally a Devlan mud wash.

I loosely based it on some of the tutorials in the tomes of wisdom section ;)

My Osgiliath ruins came in this weekend, awesome piece of scenery!
I like the " Gondorian white" style GW uses on them, and tried to achieve that.

Left wall and statue finished, right statue and doorways basecoated, in the back just a black base coat ;)

Great stuff, the Easterlings are some of the best I've seen tbh.

What paints did you use to do the ruins? I've tried getting that 'Gondor White' effect before and not really pulled it off. This is exactly the colour I had in mind.

It's easy: Basecoat with Dheneb Stone and drybrush Graveyard Earth in the cracks and finish it off with a Skull White highlight.

Got those paints now so I will definitely try that.

Really good Morannon Orcs and those metals should look sweet when painted (especially Aragorn, love that particular model).

So I've finished the Mouths. Don't worry, in real life they're not as bright as in the picture
