Well Shelob's legs have been successfully reattached and I've managed to find time to dry brush the base....... I think I might need to give it a black wash to knock it back a touch. Opinions or advice are welcome.

Looking fantastic!
I don't know how you did your base, but mine often need a black wash to knock them back, especially if I get a bit over zealous with the white! There's no better judge than yourself though, as I find the photography and difference in people's monitors can make opinions on this end of things not necessarily the best for you on your end.

The Mumak looks fantastic too, love the wickerwork in particular, really great stuff!

The Mumak and Shelob are looking good so far, that Troll is excellent. I really like what you've done for the base of Shelob, looks like the stairs where Shelob jabs Frodo in the film (if only Sam had let her eat Frodo).

I look forwards to seeing them progress 8)

The Shelob base looks great!
I think a brownish dry brush in deeper area's alway's looks nice, just to make it look dirty. Maybe some dead grass too?

Shelob's base is something unique. Why did the Mumakil need so much green stuff?

I don't usually give paint advice but this is more of a terrain base. Try a purple or dark blue wash. Make and paint a test section and try a purple wash see what you think.. Black washes are more useful for oily effects. Black looks smutty or oily you want a deeper shadow effect. I like the cold color. A brown wash will look better on a warm gray. The painting looks good to me. 8)

the door has a blue wash the rocks have a thin blue wash and a thin raspberry wash. The door is still wet I will dry brush it slate tomorrow. Try it on scrap first.
