Okay, I hope this is correctly translated from my Danish book.

How many times 'have the rotten leaves fell in my home in Mirkwood' since the golden castle was built, as Legolas says just before they meet Théoden?

The translation should be something like: "Five hundred times have the red leaves fallen in Mirkwood my home since Eorl came riding out of the north and the golden hall was built" (not exactly correct probably, but you get the picture).

The answer is 500 times.

Oh. Sorry for the bad translation, but you understood what I meant. And you were correct, as usual.

Don't worry, the Dutch translation is even worse.

How was Glaurung defeated the first time he showed himself and attacked the Noldor?

He was driven off by Fingon and his archers...but I don't know if this is specific enough?

Elessar Telcontar is absolutely correct!

Sir Richard, Azaghal the king of Belegost stabbed him the second time, and the third time he got killed (eventually) by Turin... He's one unlucky dragon. Nice to see someone else then me and Elessar take part.

I agree, it's a lot more fun when more people post.
And the question:
Which gifts did the Fellowship receive from Galadriel upon leaving Lorien (all of them)?

Merry and Pippin: Silver belts with clasps like golden flowers.
Aragorn: The Elessar and a seath to go with Anduril.
Legolas: A Galadhrim Longbow.
Gimli: Three of Galadriel's hairs.
Boromir: A golden belt of interlocking leaves.

Hurrah!

Which kinds of troops are mentioned to be marching to the Black Gate from the East when Frodo, Sam and Gollum are there?

But what kind of Easterlings. I mean something like Heavy Infantry, Light Infantry, Kataphrakts etc.

I believe it was heavy, I seem to recall them being described as having heavy armor, which influenced Jackson quite a bit, with some Kataphrakts.

There are multiple types.

The "heavies" are actually Haradrim, not Easterlings.

Time to dig out the Two Towers, eh Drauglin?

EDIT: There were infantry, all of whom are described as wearing spears (there is no indication as to whether they were wearing light or heavy armor) and horsemen as well, all of these were from the South, and therefore had to be Easterlings or Haradrim. Kataphrakts were invented by GW, I believe.

Those are the Haradrim (Southrons). Just a little bit earlier is a passage about the Easterlings.
