the pics

http://www.flickr.com/photos/79360507@N ... 339617950/
these are the first 3 completed pieces (they still need some paint)
here are the pics from the rest of the wall pieces, who all have to be scribed...... sigh.

the walls total a 12 basic pieces, but of course there will be added a gatehouse, catapult expansions maybe towers, but fist I have to finish these walls.
the ladders are made from stirring sticks from the mc donalds (managed to get a bag of 700 sticks!)

Sieges are some of the best game types. The walls look good, you'll have plenty of different variation you can do.

i make them out of aeratedconcrete.
Its a sort of plaster which has many little bubbles in
It, in my country its very cheap about 3dollar for a large
block. My houses (see "lotr buildings" ) are also made out
of aerated concrete.

Thx for all the other kind reactions

I reckon loads of archers is good + evenly spread people with might so they can push off ladders
Concentrate archers around the gate if they have a ram, this will be the weakest point in the fortress: defend it

I've played a few seiges. I found it useful to bunch some archers together in order to volley shots at the goblin hordes, then spread them out. Kicking off ladders was a key point, the first time I thought the gate would be fine, and it wasn't! A trebuchet shot blew it wide open (lucky dice rolls). Next game I stragetically placed some tough khazad guard in front of the fortress gates behind cover, when the enemy approached with their ram I let them have it. Sure they died a lonely death outside of the gates but they took out the ram and 25% of the enemy force and this time I ended up winning as I had a wandering hero atop the walls going mental with his axe if anybody managed to climb succesfully. =D all good fun!

Aeratedconcrete is an interesting product. I would like to find some and give it a try. What did you engrave and cut it with?

I engraved it with an old hacksaw(aerated concrete
blunts saws very quickly) for the horizontal lines
and a prime to scratch the vertical lines.
I find ac very nice stuff to work with, strong but easily
Modellable.
