Hi guys, so i've now been in two tournaments came tied 7th out of 18 in my first and 3rd/10 in the most recent. I love being competative so now im shooting for that #1 spot.

I have 3 semi fleshed out army concepts the main problem i'm having is picking heros, i'm not sure if I should take dalamyr but his smoke grenade is another disable and his bane of kings means I can throw both him and the betrayer into combats together and expect the thing to die. (which does affect the lists slightly).

Thats 602 points so ill need to tweak it a little bit.

602 Points, 34 Models, 5 Might

Bo'sun over Dalamyr perhaps, fellbeast looks like enough. Maybe drop warband 3 for shade+Orc spears?

First off, I'm not willing to spend that much at the moment as I dumped 300 last paycheck so thats a no to the shade even though I considered it.

Secondly there is no point for a bo'sun and a banner and the banner is only there for victory points in To The Death, so if a bo'sun counts i'd drop the banner for the bo'sun.

I was thinking Suladan as an alternative to Dalamyr, he has 2 more might and can get more attacks if he charges + a horse is that bit more mobility.

Problem with Dalamyr is you can't mount him, and his fight 5 means if he gets charged by a decent hero, it probably won't go well. Suladan would be a safer choice IMO. That said, a taskmaster might be a fitting replacement to the captain to get more might out of your heroes?

Agreed Suicidal. If I take suladan I get 7 might which is way more reasonable and while I could take a task master over the corsair captain I think the fact that the corsair just hits harder is nicer.

Currently my game plan is to sit the betrayer back and sniper out key units if possible and having him tag team with Suladan is a nice idea.

Betrayer is an effective combatant though, especially when on fell beast. If a wraith calls a heroic combat, does he lose 1 point of will, or 2?

one will at the end of a fight phase if he has been in combat. Its not one per combat.

He loses 1 if he was in a combat that turn. If he was in 2 then he's still been in a combat.

I love how almost everybody ignores Betrayer's Bane of Kings and mainly focuses on him as an archer support, while he is a superb combatant and his archers special rule gives a very very very tiny boost to the actual results.


As for the army itself - In 600pts Woodies have 40+ models with way more bows, F5 across the field and Legolas with 3 Storm Callers. How confident are you in beating that?

I think the following need to be done to improve it:
- Drop Dalamyr for a captain
- Drop banner (you've got Betrayer on FB, you can take out a banner by compelling it out and charging or by black darting).
- Get more men
- Get more bows

Funnily enough BlackMist that army type is my main concern.

I didn't forget about his BoK rule either, but keeping him in the frontline all the time is dangerous because of F6 heros

Would you not bother with banner for the victory points then (to the death only)?

If i drop dalamyr i can get

2 corsair captains
betrayer on felbeast
15 reavers
9 harad spears
6 harad bows
6 harad with spears and bows

for a total of 583 with 39 models and 6 might.

49 models, 600 pts, 9 might

I could swap the reavers for normal corsairs and just shoot the enemy to death >.>
