Wow- looks great. From the trailer, it seems to cover quite a lot for 1 of 3 films. And that thing at 1.40 is that Radagast???

Yes. Hes doing some sort of voodoo magic with what looks like a Hedgehog. Who else could it be? Its not at 1:40 by the way, its at 1:13.

i dont think its voodoo, i think its more like the hedgehogs been affected by the dark lord and hes saving it

The CGI in the trailer looks kinda fake though, but I guess it is still work in progress and will be improved for the actual movie.

I love the Idea of Saron 'affecting' hedgehogs:

At first I thought Elrond said that Glamdring belonged to the King of Gondor. Took a couple listens before I was positive that he said Gondolin. SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE.

Even though I think that PJ is taking a few too many liberties with the story, it looks like they'll be the kind that I'll like, like making Goblin Town more of a battle.

I got home after a very hard day to finally watch the new trailer.

I have to say I laughed out loud several times :rofl:

I was pleased :!:

I can't wait to see the movie.
I am very excited about some new additions to Goblin Town I will have to build.

I am more afraid that some of my favorite parts might get left out or worse yet some of the kids favorite parts. Making a chatty children's book in to a action movie that fans of the book will like is not something very many people can do.

Pretty heavy on the CGI, which looks like it could be improved significantly. But to be honest I was astounded by this trailer, it was really great! The last trailer was quite serious, but this one suggests that plenty of humor has also been incorporated--in fact, I laughed out loud a couple of times, surprising myself. I think humor is a positive way to show the audience that many aspects of The Hobbit are to be taken much more lightly than LotR.

Awesome! I think the Hobbit is going to be a lot more funnier than LOTR, which kinda reflects the different writing styles for the Hobbit and LOTR. I agree that the CGI could be improved but I will reserve my judgement to the actual film.

Personally I really don't want more humor, the occasional fun with Gimli was fine.
Things like "well that could have been worse... splat!", seen that a thousand times.... so predictable.

But its gonna be great anyway!

Was that perhaps a Stone Giant tumbling at 2:16? You can see one throwing a bolder a bit earlier.

Humor at the right measure is fine and almost needed for an intense story. But humor taken just a step too far totally sucks any sense of realism or suspense out of a film. Though I didn't think it was taken too far in LotR, I wasn't very happy about how much Gimli was used as the stooge in several parts. It really took away from the sense of him as a great warrior. With Hobbit we have a slightly lighter tone to begin with but also more Dwarves which can fill the role of humor foil. Let's hope it doesn't become too much...

The new wargs look fine. Not sure I like Radagast plowing thru the woods on an animal drawn sled. A bit too Narnia for me. Also, when I read the Hobbit I love how Gandalf just seems to move around the world at will. You know he's using magic to do so but you never see it happen. This was actually very powerful enforcement to the reader. There should be no reason Radagast has to behave otherwise.

I am not going to worry much about the quality of the CGI in any trailer or preview. It's never going to look right until final production and on the big screen. But I agree that a heavy reliance on CGI (even more so than with LotR) puts a heavier burden on them doing it right.

Never mind the nitpicks in my post. These are concerns only. I will not make any judgements until I see the film myself. I know only that I'm really thrilled.

Gollum looks to be stealing the show already!! I'm am going to LOVE him in this!

Hahaha yep I'm definately still a geek. I kept telling people the amount of CGI was insane. They all said I was overreacting and did way to much criticising. Now I come here and notice everyone has something to say about the CGI. Some even seem to think (like me) that the CGI doesn't look realistic. I feel so happygeekish right now.

Even Gollum. I dunno what it is that makes him look less convincing. They tried to make him too clean I think.:/ Loved the scene with Bilbo though.

All in all, my excitement for the movie is still untouched, but the trailer made me go: OH THIS GAME LOOKS SO NICE!! Wait...
