People use LOTR wiki's all time (or at least, they use to), so going through the books for an answer definitely counts.

IsleStaggerholm, you are correct!

What is the first anachronism that appears within the Hobbit? Hint: this is a bit controversial as it may not be a true anachronisim considering the narrator of the story, but nonetheless its certainly anachronistic in nature.

Is it when Bilbo is listening to Thorin talk about the upcoming journey and he squeals "like the whistle of an engine coming out of a tunnel"? (I had to look up the exact quote)

That's the one . . . nicely done--I would have thought that lasted longer.

My turn, then? I really have no idea if this question is too hard or too easy.

Name two elves who are exactly one-quarter Vanyar, one-quarter Noldor, and one-half Teleri by descent.

I don't think its too hard, and I believe I can do it without having to look at the charts. But I will wait and give someone else a chance.

Celebrian is one, the second...

I'll get back to you on this.

Unfortunately, Celebrian is only one-eighth Vanyar and more than half Teleri/Sindarin...

And there are a few different theories floating around about her father Celeborn; I think Tolkien changed his mind about Celeborn;s heritage several times.

Oops, I'm wrong. Galadriel is one. Tomogui, you're right on Celebrian. Then come Galadriel's siblings, Finrod, Angrod and Aegnor.

Yay!

Who was the first King of Arnor/King of Arthedain/Chieftain of the Dunedain to start his name with "Ar-"?
