I'm really glad they cleared up the 'does Panic Steed affect the Mumak' thing.

Strange how they "fixed" (IMO, the wrong way) which models Boromir's banner affects (only Minas Tirith instead of all Gondorians, which fluff-wise is stupid -.-) and did not address the "Bodyguard (Gondor)" issue.

At least Thranduil's Wrath is finally resistable, seeing as it now counts as having rolled a 6. And about time that Glorfindel finally got Terror. :-)

That truly is weird... the German FAQs are only 0.66MB. Sometimes I think the English web team are a bunch of incompetent slobs - they slip up regularly with the actual content, too (like messing up winged monstrous creatures in 40k). :P

How would you determine the difference between Minas Tirith and Gondor?

I assumed this errata was so that Boromir's +1 Fight could now affect other heroes.

Uruk-hai Drummer! :D

Why does the Beast of Gorgoroth have the Dead Weight rule but the Mumakil does not?

*edit* Also how does a Berserker carrying a flaming brand fight if he can't use his 2H weapon?

Still no solution to the 33% bow limit in an all mounted rohirrim army.. :(

Minas Tirith is the capital of Gondor, but Gondor is not only comprised of Minas Tirith - it contains the Fiefs, too.

Boromir was the most respected Captain of all Gondor, and the Banner of Minas Tirith was pretty much Gondor's de facto national flag - why should it only affect those from the capital, especially when carried by an individual loved by all Gondorians from Ithilien to the Anfalas?

The same applies for the Bodyguard (Gondor) rule. Unlike implied by GW with the separate army lists, Minas Tirith and the Fiefs are one coherent military, with Boromir (later Faramir) as commander in chief and Imrahil as second in command of all Gondor's forces, regardless of whether they come from Minas Tirith or from somewhere else. Having Citadel Guard protect Imrahil or Forlong makes just as much sense as having them protect their Minas Tirith counterparts, more in some cases (Damrod/Madril).

<<This, too. Which does make sense, for the above reasons.>>

EDIT: Scratch that. I just re-read the FAQ, and it only says "Change the second sentence to read...". However, the third sentence, which is unaffected, still excludes other heroes from the banner's +1. Ah well...

I gave up hope for ever seeing Rohan the way it should be a loooong time ago...

He uses his hand weapon. Then you support him with an orc with spear, and then an uruk with pike. 4 attacks. :D

For the Rohirrim, I would ask your opponent if they are ok with you dropping the bows from 2/3 of your riders, mine always are.

What's the problem with the Rohirim? The only thing I know about them is that their cavalry isn't as strong as it ought to be.

RoR all come with bows built into the profile, so if you want an all mounted RoR army you can only shoot with 1/3rd of them, while the other 2/3rds you're essentially paying for a bow you can't use. FWIW, I think the current RoR profile should be a Rohan Skirmisher, and the actual RoR profile should drop the bow and have a lance, with an upgrade option to F4 while mounted.

Some one told me somewhere that you could say that only the models actually carrying their bows count as armed with them. So in the box set that's 2 of 6 that carry their bows. A wonderful solution, I think! ;)

:-D I thought they didn't carry hand weapons. Unless this statement says they do?

Warriors do have hand weapons.

That would be so nice! :-D They'd die less on those ladders. :-D

That's exactly what it says. There are only a few models that do not have a hand weapon, such as Galadriel (the non-fighty version), and Cirdan. Everybody else does, including berzerkers.

Just don't ask where those 'zerks are hiding those daggers...I've looked close at the model. Nothing! (personally I think the 'zerks should have been in the 2H "only" category)

Stop it your making my wallet cry! Well I suppose I could go without food for a month..or sell a kidney! I'll probably just go down the route of only declaring riders with bows in their hands as actually having bows, even if the others pay a point for them for nothing!

In the case of the Uruk-hai drummer, it was about time they give it a profile, they had plenty of chances to do so before. And i don't even like Isengard.

The great beast ones are great. good mumak call too :-D

Why? No other Warrior even has the option to havve no armouror heavy armour - they're already way more flexible.

Convert the two plastic riders with throwing spears into RRG and the two with sword/axe into Sons of Earl. no extra harm to your wallet, and no wasted pts.

Think of the positive side. The Sons of Eorl models are incredible, oh boy I wish i had some myself lol. Do you guys think that if Rohan was allowed to field more that 1/3 mounted bowmen it would overpower them, considering they could move 7cms and still shoot. Or maybe decrease the cost of their basic cavalry unit to make them more competitive. It's a shame for the Sons of Eorl to have a mediocre cavalry while they should've had the best.
