I'm so conflicted on how to paint mine if I get some. Do I do them gold like the Fellowship/ Last Alliance Elves? Do I do them silver like they are in The Hobbit? Or do I do them glossy brown like Elrond's armour? If I do either of the latter two, do I repaint the older High Elves I already have done?

Arghh! At least I have two months to plan! :)

Well I never liked the gold but I love the brown on Elrond's armour so I'm going to paint him that way, but sense I had planned on making all my elves silver armoured I'll just stick with that for them.

Me either. Feanorthenoldor had a thread for painting the Galadhrim with a dark silver scheme that I intend to emulate. I haven't seen the movie yet. But silver sounds better than old gold or bronze orange.

rivendell riders look ace, as do the dwarves - might just have to take back the statement bout not buying ny new GW for the next year lol.

plastic eagles are interesting - not something I'll buy but having 10 next to each other would look great on a table

I'm just glad that after 11 years the old school High Elves are getting something new. If I get them I'll probably go half and half 6 silver, six gold or something. Could always have mounted in silver and foot troops in gold like BfoME II ? Plan to get more Last Alliance elves at some point.

This is a very good idea indeed.

One can get a really nice organic tone to the armour if you mix the gold with Goblin green, by the way.

Really cool Wargs!, the top two and the right middle are my favorites, only one I don't really like is the one in the bottom right corner, a bit unnatural pose.

Are they the current Wargs without the riders?

Some of them look similar, but no. There are 6 variants, but only 3 in the hunter Orcs on Wargs box.

I too really look forward to those Wargs, they look aewsome, and i think Hunter Orcs on foot and loose Fell Wargs are better pt for pt than the combined proflie.

Well damn. I was planning on making some Hunter Orcs on Fell Wargs out of Space Wolf Fenrisian Wolves, Hunter Orcs, old Warg Riders and WGF Orc bits. Ah, maybe I'll still do that...

oh wow, those are lovely.

Looks like Feb is the month I spend way too much money on Middle-earth figures :) Been thinking in terms of a Gundabad Orc warband comprising twelve Hunter Orcs on Wargs led by a Fimbul-type character, with the Hunter Orcs (on foot) representing the, uh, on foot Orcs. The army would be supported by a whole bunch of Fell wargs. Some to represent "unmounted" wargs, some to represent "wild" wargs as part of the pack.

That should represent a small, flexible and flavourful army to have those Elf Knights fight :)

Are the orcs in the flashback at the battle of Moria, similar in design to the hunter orcs? It was too brief for me to absorb it properly. I'm hoping they aren't and that we might get a summer release of some new Gundabad plastic orcs. The new Dwarves look awesome.

They didn't look anything like the hunter orcs imo.
