The Hobbit SBG - Army of Dol Guldur
Deep in the heart of Mirkwood sits the new realm of Sauron the Dark Lord, hidden after his fall at the gates of Mordor. For many years a darkness dwelt in the southern reaches of Mirkwood - the evil of the Necromancer. Sauron is a force to be reckoned with and his powers grow...

Below is a link to my blog where my Hobbit SBG Sauron the Necromancer's Dul Guldur army of Mirkwood is on display - feel free to join the site and look out for regular updates. Just glad I finally got round to finishing it!

Very nice, I really like the building, it looks a lot like whatever Dol Guldur ruins would look.

Note: pic 19, far left orc: that thing I always thought that was his stomach exposed! Did you paint it as armour? Can't tell
pic 26, shame that such a nice pic is worse because of the ceiling. Anyway, great work!

Thanks Finrod - Yes I used the area on that orc as armour...

The last picture has now been airbrushed to hide the white!

Glad you liked it... I am desperate to finish my Cirith Ungol army, but that has taken a back shelf... Arnor and Gondor are calling!

I really like your terrain as well as the models.

Over the last several years (since release of FotN) Mirkwood Elves and Dol Guldur have been my two main forces for SBG and WotR and it's been a relatively 'rare' force compared to many other themes. With the Hobbit rolling out now I think these are both going to become far more popular. I am interested to see if new Warband options are introduced for these armies over the next year or so as well (I imagine they will be), not to mention what new version of the Necromancer we may see in 2013 with the second film.

I know the feeling, but I've had the figures for a while and just wanted to get them finished! Looking forward to see the new Mirkwood stuff when it comes out!
