As the January challenge was posted a little late and is a shorter challenge than normal I thought I'd get the ball rolling and be all set for the Feb challenge to start on the 1st to get a full month out of it.

So what do we all want to paint for the Februry Challenge?

Monsters. I've got The Great Goblin, a Dragon, The Balrog and Treebeard to choose from.

I chose royalty, but it looks like Monsters will win. What qualifies as such? Great Spiders, or would just the Spider Queen and Shelob count?

Heh, maybe I'll get my Mumak painted. Or one of my Great Beasts. Possibly the Spider Queen. Or it could give me the excuse to get Gwaihir and a couple of Great Eagles...

:-X I wanted this to be the first painting challenge I participate in since I have a new bought Cave Troll. Sadly I have nearly finished painting it, so i will vote for royalty (do Rohan Royal Guards count  )?

Edit: I just realized that Goblins is an option, so I will vote for them and try to paint my Durburz and 6 Gobbos!

I voted for monsters as it would be a change from the more normal-sized 28mm minis and I have seen a few well painted monsters in the WIP's recently and I think that the high standard would make for a close contest. Good luck folks!

Just a question, can one of the old metal Haldir's Elves with swords be used as a captain? I hope to enter Haldir with bow in armour, Haldir's Standard Banner Bearer and Haldir's Elves with Swords as a captain. If not can I just enter Haldir and the Banner Bearer?

Many thanks :)

Went for the Fellowship, need to get Aragorn and Legolas done, and I need an impulse to do so, as I hate the MoM models.

In the interest of fairness to all entrants monsters will be limited to one monster.
