We are looking for players in London to join our local gaming club.

Any and all are welcome, and there are no fees to pay. We are simply a group of local gamers who meet regularly, about once a month.

If you are interested, please reply to this post.

Thank you.

Where are you based and when do you meet up? I'm up in Finchley. Whitewizard, Dwarfendale and myself regularly meet for games of SBG. We have a club on Sundays (there are fees though, halls don't rent themselves!)

There could potentially be a really good SBG scene in London if those of us based here are smart about it.

We are based in South East London, Catford, to be exact. Travel time from central London is under an hour by train.

New members are very welcome.

We like to meet new players unofficially first at a neutral place, as the club is generally held at Players houses. It's not cool, I know, but it does mean we don't have to charge fees.

Let me know what dates are good for you and we'll see what we can set up.

Thank you.

To Faradomin:

You'd be very welcome to attend, although we do like to meet new members at a neutral place first of all, to get to know them. This is a precaution we always take and we hope you won't read too much into it.

No Army is no problem; we have plenty of extra models and Armies set up, including Harad, Moria, Rohan, Gondor, Mirkwood and Rivendell.

Which Armies do you have in mind for your models?

Have you checked out our blog? It has our last Battle Report, between myself and Tabletop_Heroes.

My e-mail address is Frontline59@hotmail.co.uk, if you want to talk directly. E-mail me and we can set up some concrete dates

If you ever fancy attending East Grinstead - our club is less than hour from you, if that - I live in Uckfield so EG is between me and your club.

Would be good to sort out a battle day... WotR or SBG or both.
Check out our website and let me know your thoughts.
We have 4-5 Lotr players

Thank you for replying so quickly Pathfinder Captain. Whenever you wanna meet up is fine really I will be on the forum via my phone everyday so just send me a pm to let me know when.

In regards to which army I am not entirely sure yet, I was thinking Gondor as they are hands down my favorate army in any of Tolkiens works however they seem to me from reading around on the internet that they are a very used army so I may start with someone like The Fiefdoms.

Also I decided to look at your blog and the battle report is quite well written, Helms Deep is a very good battle in the books and sounds like it would be a very fun one to play on the tabletop.

Are you free on the 16th/17th Feb? We'd suggest meeting at Starbucks in Bromley, as long as that's convenient for you. Let us know and we'll arrange it.

As for Gondor, don't write them off for that reason. They have some very reliable troops, especially if you make good use of their unique Heroes and units to turn things to your advantages. Gondor Rangers are good units to harrass or skirmish.

It's at the other end of the high street, past WH Smith and outside the Glades.

How does 10:00 sound?

Excellent.

Myself and Tabletop_Heroes should both be there.

We'll buy you a coffee and we can talk, just generally.

We've got two games on the go, Helm's Deep and Protect the Rohirrim, but we also have some three player games in the works

I wonder in terms of the whole uk league concept, what your venue is like marauders? Can you fit 20 players in? Could potentially organise a tournament like the one in Stockport around May or June?

Our setup is fairly small with only space for 4-5 players. While the idea of a tournament is interesting, it would require the hiring of a hall or similar venue. Personally, this is a bigger deal than I'm able to take on. If you are keen on this, you may wish to contact a local club such as The Good, The Bad and The Bromley, to see if they would be willing to provide their facilities for you.
