Thanks PoW for the kind comment

Today some more nostalgia to share with you.. they would have been something for the Goblin challenge maybe, but since they were converted and painted in 2011 they would hardly count ^^ Bases aren't finished, but I hope you liken them nevertheless. (Maybe some inspiration for simple conversions too)

Thank you LordElrond! Glad that you like them :)

Today a little update on my Rohan huntsman. The conversion is finished now and primed. Repositioned the bow (it broke, but fortunately i had a spare one) and glued the shield onto his back (like the Rohan hornblower). Expect a complete Rohan command squad arriving soon ;)

Thanks Matt, Gothmog and RotN for your kind comments! I'm happy that my work pleases you ^^

So, as promised here is the Rohirrim commando unit I'm working on at the moment. The captain and the hornblower are resin minis, the other two guys (as mentioned before) conversions. I must say, that I'm rather disappointed of resin and those two will probably stay the only finecasts I ever buy. The face of the hornblower is a hell to paint, because you have obstacles from every angle.. I expected the captain's face to be a lot easier, but his right eyes has some kind of deep hole next to it, what made it difficuilt as well. I still hope, that you like the look of these guys so far. And i have to add, that I'm still a bit proud of the freehand banner ;)

You've done some nice work. Ironically I tend to find a fault with right eyes, not on every model but if there is a problem it's always that one.
I would like to see a touch more shading on the scale armour of the Rohan command, otherwise it's looking great.
I like the before and after photos

I had a major problem with the Rohan commander finecasts too so much so that I threw out the captain :( Good thing I have the metal versions :)

The banner is excellent. Nicely smooth transitions on the red and green and the freehand is very impressive.

Again I can only thank you guys for your kind comments and tips and all!
As for the right eyes that's quite interesting Gandlaf and ofc accents will follow on the armor, it's not finished yet.
MMS I envy you a bit for the metal versions! ^^ I'm glad you and Crucium like the freehand too!
And for Gandlaf (and all others of course) here's another "Before - After", although it's nowhere near being finished at the moment:
Gamling and Aragorn mounted, horses got their first layer of colour and armor and weapons on Gamling and Aragorn got their first layer as well. I don't want to be a show off.. but I guess it's a vast improvement for Gamling already..
Let me know what you think :)

Thanks! :)
It was a spot of yellow colour. Don't know why though, it was another bargain from ebay ;) (~£ 3 )

It's nice to see the difference with your eBay buys and goes to show that a poor paint job doesn't mean you should avoid it. I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress these.

Damn.. I really should stop checking ebay! I just cant resist when I see a poor paintjob that is a good deal...
At least I shouldn't buy stuff before I get painted what I already have in stock.. :o
Well anyway.. here are some of my many next projects:

(Pls remember, not my paintjob, that's how I bought it. Just saying ^^)
