Moving on to 750 pts Grey Company

So, I have a Grey Company 500 pts list, and everything for it (nearly(the long wait for post))
Arathorn
12 Rangers of Arnor w/ 4 spears
Halbarad
12 Rangers of Arnor w/ 4 spears
6 Rangers of the North

I also have Aragorn on foot

What should I get to add to this army at 750 or 800 pts?

The elf twins are handy as is malbeth. Other than that, maybe add in a arnor warrior with banner

I know Malbeth is good, but he's from old arnor, and not the Grey Company

I don't mind all too much about aragorn and arathorn being together, as they were around the same time, but the war over arnor was way before their time.

Could anyone recommend an ideal Grey Company list for 750 or 800 pts?

The thing with grey company is that it is all the same and a 500pt list will look the same as a 800pt list etc. to make it higher add hero, 12 rangers and 3 RoN until you get to your target.

850 pts will do.

To get to 750pts, I'm getting my RotN mounted and including an Aragorn/Strider on horse, with bow, armour (won't afford Anduril)

At 1000pts adding Anduril and a Malbeth led warband of 12 WoA, plus banner.

Have you considered Gildor and some noldorian exiles? Just a single warband fully kitted out will give you fast moving dagger throwers, and if you give them all spears you can essentially upgrade your men to f5. Gildor can also cast immobilize, and chepa magic is never a bad thing...

I support elves(maybe because I'm an elf player

) but having more numbers, that are fast and elite(ish) as well as some magic just seems better for this army.

yes but in a recent faq gw said if you use Gildor, you can field wood elves in an eregion army, and then upgrade them.

How do you play with them when they have such a low defence?

Played with Gildor before
Killed by Uruk crossbows in 1st turn of shooting

Dont let the crossbows get LoS to him in first turn? if there are wood available, run him and his elves through them and get as many in-the-way rolls as possible. you move 8" so catching up isnt gonna be a problem.

Yeah sorry, if you let him get killed by shooting in turn 1 that is your fault alone, doesn't make him bad.

He was on the wall above the gate and my opponent passed all the in the way tests past the wall and passed high elves as he was waiting to immobilise the battering ram carriers below.
Would elven cloaks be worth it for the high points cost of them?

But he has an elf cloak, he shouldn't have been a legit target.

That's just bad luck (or good luck for your opponent). But he has more than one wound, and also has Fate...so that's extremely bad luck...
