I just got the new White dwarf and it shows the new models:
- Warriors of Erebor (12 models, looks like a mix of grim hammers and the old dwarf models)
- Warriors of Dale (10 models, wearing cloaks and funny hats)
- Grim Hammer captain (already seen, the bald guy)
- Thror (awesome!)
- Lindir (on foot and without armour)

*waves hand* could I see some pics too? =D

To upload pics, I recomend you use upload them from your computer to an online storage site (such as photobucket) and then you can click the Img button up there ^^^ and paste the direct link between the 2 sets of brackets.

I am more alarmed that the Dale men come in a box of ten... presumably at the same price as twelve of most other plastics in the GW LoTR/Hobbit ranges. :( They do look like the guys seen very briefly in the film.

I like the grim hammer captain. The Men of Dale have an interesting look.

Any idea when they'll be available? Are they for March, or April, or not announced?

Interesting. Those Men of dale look more like A GW than a Weta creation. The standards must have slipped a little.

The sculpts seem nice but no Bunny Sled or White Warg yet. :(

Thanks for the pics - much appreciated.

The Men of Dale and the top half of Thror look great (his leg seems a little spindly).

Not too sure about the Warriors of Erebor though, they seem to be a strange amalgam of too many ideas.

As for Lindir. Urgh. Yuk. Worst model of the Hobbit range so far I reckon, nothing like the actor, far too tubby and horribly small, out of proportion ball hands. Urgh. Yuk.

Might need to think about how to get those Men of Dale on the table, they really do look sweet. It's nice to know that with the MOD release, all bets are off the table for what else is coming, we could get a selection of new profiles and models over the next few months - cool.

Is there any decent LOTR/Hobbit content this month or just pictures of the figures and the odd Paint Splatter?

My opinions:
I quite like the look of the dalish warriors but they totally don't fit in with how I imagined them to be.

Lindir looks like abit of a doofus IMO. I mean, wat is he meant to be doing?? holding an invisible staff? no idea what GW were going for here  :?
Dwarven warriors I am rather disappointed with really :( They look really scruff and rag-tag. really not impressed.

Thror I quite like but he's bordering on the warhammer-esque. (I despise warhammer :x )

Overall, a disappointment for me really :( . They had some great potential for those dwarves...

They are available the 2nd March, and yes unfortunately only Paint Splatter, and only the Warriors of Dale... :(

My thoughts:

Men of dale - although they're taken from the movie theres something about them that just doesn't look lotr to me. Still look cool though. 4/10

Lindir - Quite possibly one of the worst figures in the lotr/hobbit range (the very first Arwen springs to mine) looks nothing like Brett Mackenzie at all. 1/10

Warriors of Erebor - Look very interesting even though it is a bland paintjob, I'm picturing forking more money out for those and the Grimhammers. Side by side they would look a treat. 7/10

Thror - Wow had no interest in him but that figure is amazing, one of my fave Hobbit releases so far, right up there with Bolg. 9.5/10

Thanks for the info. How much are the Warriors of Dale?

I'll be giving it a miss again then. If they just included a new scenario every month and maybe a tactics style article I'd probably cough up £5 of my hard earned cash but for a few pics of models you can get online? No thanks.

Shame.

Not impressed at all, I think the Warriors of Dale and Thror are pretty good

But I really, really dislike the warriors of Erebor, I had hoped they would be like the grimhammers only with shields etc

Dissapointed for upcoming month..

Warriors of Dale are indeed 10 minis for £20/€30, Same goes for Erebor warriors but for 12 minis (jeej! :x )

Yep, the models are quite horrible especially Lindir :(

I concur... I thought they would be like the ones we saw jogging out of Erebor to defend it. :(
