High Elves and Grey Company / Arnor 500 pts

Hi guys,
I have pretty much every high elf excluding the new hobbit releases, and I'm wondering how people make a 250pts list of high elves.
Please help

Mounted twins, fully kitted out (no elf cloaks), and mounted arwen.

Son´s of Elrond list could work...

However I would maybe try random captain and soldiers

Warband 1
High elf captain with shield
3 high elves with shield and spear
2 high elves with elven blade

Warband 2
high elf storm caller
2 high elves with shield and spear
3 high elves with bow

248pts

Another list?

Warband 1
Elladan and elrohir with heavy armour
3 high elves with shield and spear
3 high elves with elven blade
3 high elves with bow

246pts

or

Warband 1
Arwen with elven cloak
2 high elves with shield and spear
2 high elves with elven blade
2 high elves with bow

Warband 2
High elf stormcaller
2 high elves with shield and spear
2 high elves with elven blade
2 high elves with bow

total: 250pts

Meh, numbers are just so friggin low in any troop orientated list with the warbands system.

Why not try:

Gorlfindel
Armour of Gondolin
Ashfaloth

5 High Elf warriors/ Shields
5 High Elf Warriors/ Spears

A little short on models, but Gorfindel on his horse can be anywhere you need him to be, and 4 attacks with Fight 7 is pretty good for 150pts

I'd spent my lunchtime at school today making these lists for 500 pts, High Elves and Arnor. Please say which you think is best and why.

Elladan and Elrohir
11 high elf warriors with shields

Arathorn
12 Rangers of Arnor, 4 with spears
3 RotNs
500pts

OR:
Elladan and Elrohir
11 high elf warriors with shields

Halbarad
12 Rangers of Arnor with spears
3 RotNs, 2 with spears
500pts

OR:
High Elf Captain with shield
12 high elves with shields

Halbarad
12 Rangers of Arnor with spears
5 RotNs, 3 with spear
501 pts

OR:
Glorfindel with Armour of Gondolin and Asfaloth
11 High elves with shields

Halbarad
11 Rangers of Arnor with spears
3 RotNs, 1 with spear
500pts

Or should I mount some RotNs to go with Glorfindel?

First list, you have 11 might, and 3 3A heroes. Although you should give 4 of the elf warriors bows tbh.

I would almost definitely go for that Arathorn and Twins list

Glorf and Halbarad means you have 6 might as opposed to 9. I know Glorf has fight 7, but that only offers a benefit over models with fight 6, of which there will likely only be one or two of, and i'd rather have two great heroes, one of which can call a heroic strike when fighting a f6 model, than have one model that has half as much might, but doesn't need to spend a single point of it to outfight monsters. I dunno if that made sense, but im pretty sure that the twins are a better choice.

Also twins and Arathorn is very thematic (dunno if you've ever seen the 'born of hope' fan film).

It has Glorfindel who is definitely value for points in such a small points game it has plenty of troops and might.

One thing I would say though would be to drop six of the high elves with shield and replace them with three bowmen

That's what I was thinking, but glorfindel has a higher defence and is miunted, whereas, with the basically thesame, however there are 2 of them and they have a much lower defence

Would it be a good idea to drop one ranger form this list to give all of the others spears?

Defence 5 requires a 6 to wound from most bows, and in combat low defines only matters if you lose. You can also give them armour/horses like glorf..
