Hi,
As the title says, what type of glue should I use when gluing green stuff to:
A) plastic
B) metal
C) finecast
D) other green stuff

Answers much appreciated.

Thanks,

Green stuff is sticky in itself, so you should be able to mould it on when wet. When it's dry ... I don't really know, but I'd go for super glue with all of them. Did you mean when dry or when wet?

I've been through this exact issue with the magnetized predator tank I'm doing. On one side the wet-greenstuff solidified nicely around the piece of plastic and is still holding in place, on the other side it fell off when dry so I just had to use a little Citadel Thin Superglue, just a tiny dab and now you'd have to rip it apart to remove it. Does the job lovely.

super glue. Plastic glue (strangely enough) only glues plastic together.

Haha it sure can and boy does it hurt if you try and seperate them!

I always use superglue when gluing greenstuff to other materials. Superglue also makes (fresh) greenstuff harden quicker, too :)

I once glued my fingers together and had to be taken to hospital for treatment...I was too young to remember it though.

Just a couple of weeks ago I nearly had a repeat experience, when I was trying to unclog the nozzle of my superglue bottle (from Boyes, not GW). The nozzle was blocked with clumps of dried glue - I had to resort to using my citadel hobby drill to drill it out, but then the drill bit snapped (and was stuck in the nozzle).

I eventually unclogged it, but all the liquid glue trapped in the nozzle ended up over my hands...

I hate Superglue.

You said it right there - a special kind of stupid = Dead Marsh Spectre lol

Nah I was doing a similar thing to you, trying to knock the dried glue off the end of the nozzle but with wrong end of a brush - i have a nasty habit of holding my brush between my teeth - brush + superglue + mouth = problem lol -

LOOL I never had an accident of this magnitude but for all of you who did here is a quick tip for not happening again:
Acetone or more simply nail varnish remover.
This will dissolve the glue because it can destroy the bonds of the cyanoacrylate macromolecular chain.

I personally get through a ton of nail varnish remover - very good for stripping paint off ebay'd/traded figs and removing hard greenstuff, as well as preventing superglue-related mishaps! Plus it's really not very expensive at all...! :D
