Some really beautiful models throughout this entire thread, keep up the good work, the or captain is especially good, you have captured the "grimyness" of an orc superbly and finished him off well with a great base

white is a very hard colour to paint and shade and you did a great job on this.

Thanks all, I'm glad you like it, I was pretty impressed with the sculpt. It was flawless, and didn't take long to clean at all. I forgot to mention that I gave it a normal base instead of the one it came with. I don't understand why they gave it a smaller base when it's much bigger than a normal figure :roll:

Here is what I've been working on recently, my entry for this months challenge.

This is my first time to do a base like this, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I was afraid I might have overdone it, and still am a bit. It was hard to take pictures of though, sorry there's so many. As for the model itself, I'm happy with it. I think it could be better, especially the free hand. It took me forever to get it to a point where I was happy with it. I had a ton of fun with this one though, I hope to do more bases like this in the future, and hopefully I won't do any free hand for a while

C&C is very welcome.

Looks fantastic and should do well in the competition, only thing is I think you may have got the spelling wrong with your freehand title. Hihg elf? Easily fixed haha

I thought something looked funny. I guess I was so excited that I had finished that I forgot how to spell. Thanks for pointing that out, knowing me I probably wouldn't have noticed :lol:

Well, I fixed my spelling, I mostly just covered up the last two letters :-D

I also started on one of my dwarf lords. The cloak isn't as smooth as I would like, I'll probably go back and work some more on it.

Please let me know what you all think. I may post some more pics tonight too.

Almost finished now, just the base left, and maybe a few touch ups. I went for a darker, redder face, and was really happy that the eyes only took one try.

I'm also really happy with how the nmm turned out.

Well, since now one seems to have wanted to say anything, I'm going to make my first triple post :twisted:

Anyway, here are some Easterlings. Nothing special, but I'm happy with them. I know it's probably a little boring seeing a lot of Easterlings, but I've got quite a few of them and I find it interesting how I've progressed/changed in my painting them.

Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the bad pics.

The NMM on the dwarf king is fantastic!!
Really like the purple cloak too :yay:

Might I suggest possibly adding a highlight to the axe haft... imo it looks quite flat

Well done though... it's a thoroughly awesome model and you've done an exceptionally good job :yay:

The dwarf is fabulous - now you can appreciate why purple was chosen as the symbol of power (that and the ridiculous expense of obtaining the dye itself which came from a species of sea snail). He really catches the eye! Well done!
