Hi all and welcome to the May Painting challenge. I've not been on the ball lately so missed the poll to decide the subject so I've been a bit sneaky and decided for you lol.

RADAGAST THE BROWN

Image

Rules

If you are unsure as to whether something will be eligible for entry, just post asking or PM me and I will let you know whether or not you may use it.

1.To complete the challenge a Radagast miniature must be completed by May 31st. If you don't have a Radagast model available then another Istari will suffice.

2. To enter the painting challenge, the miniatures you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniatures 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

3. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of May 31st 2013. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged. A maximum of 4 photos of your completed entries please, this allows you to show your miniature off from multiple angles.

4. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed miniatures. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to reduce their backlog and improve their painting skills.

5. Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next months painting challenge, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive months.

Good luck to all

DMS you are my hero! I voted for Radagast last month as I had a vague thought I might get him done but as it turned out I assembled him last night! I was keeping my eye out for a poll and when I saw this thread appear it absolutely made my day! Looks like the first painting challenge I'll be entering!

One more thing, I was actually planning on painting 2 versions side by side (and maybe a third in a week or two) can I post proof pics of them all and then pick one to submit at the end or do I have to announce which is my entry from the start?

Thanks again, couldn't have come at a better time!

Going from the past, you can just take one shot and decide which is your final entry once you're done.

Why don't you just have Istari and have done with it DMS ? - lol

It gives a slightly wider remit for people and possibly makes for a more interesting challenge.

Just a thought it's your baby !

P.S - I have a Radagast and just might be temp led to dip my brush in the water this month. If I do it will be the first time in years.

Yup any of the Istari are ok if you don't have Radagast available to you.

I did think bout making the challenge title "Istari" but with all of the new Radagast sculpts available of late I thought it would be nice to see what everyones take on him would be. Of course not everyone owns a Radagast model so I added in that any of the Istari are eligible to enter the challenge.

It would be great to see you in the challenge Azog - get that brush out! :D

Oh, I have Radagast from EFGT and will be getting the Sled. Are both eligible? I have the former assembled already.

Sure both are eligible for the challenge but only one can be entered as your final piece - feel free to post a proof pic containing both models and decide later which to enter in the challenge.
