Hey everyone, just wondering if Legions of Middle Earth was still a useful supplement to own? Or has it become obsolete since the release of the warband updates?

Obsolete. Even the army groupings are different now.

Are those army groupings and warband rules in the new army specific supplements?

Jup. Even in the big Rulebook if I'm correct, not 100% sure though.

Yes, they are. They are also explained in the Hobbit rule book (both the Hard Back and Goblin Town editions).

I would say that though the army lists are now obsolete, the 12 scenarios are worth using. The terrain generator can be fun if you have a serious enough collection of scenery. I would generally suggest modifying this idea to make it work with your own scenery collection.

Due to its general obsolescence I would think it somewhat scandalous if it was still on sale retail!

Haha yeah, but I saw it for $10 or so at a used book shop and was thinking about picking it up.

Yep, LoME is completely obsolete and essentially worthless except for its scenarios. Those are really, really good scenarios and I like them better than the ones in the new sourcebooks - I wish they'd kept them around in some form.

Does any one remember the "none released models" of the LOME book?

I don't have the book but it sound like pretty much fun to sum them up again. Just wishfull thinking! hehe

Thinking about it I always hoped they'd release the elven siegebow!

There was a Corsair Captain with sword and shield and a couple of corsairs that were never released. They are on display at Warhammer World.

The black hearted trees could have been great. The Were Wolves made it into WOTR Rules Book but not into production.

Stone Giants could be fun, particularly as they are featured in the movie but would have yo be massively scaled down.

@bilbo, those corsairs are conversions, most likely for reapers.

Actually I don't think they are as they have completely different armaments.

If it had the stats for, not just points cost, for the unreleased models it would be priceless. But now its just a book on my shelf with the pages falling out of it.

I was going to use it for the scenarios for a game against my cousin on Monday, but we thought Nah, lets just do what we always do (Doctor Evil Style) and fight to the death!

The scenarios are good in the book. Its worth it for that if you can get it cheap.
