I've gone for Joshuar_AU; from what I can see he's nailed several different tones of white on Gandalf and Shadowfax in a very smooth fashion.

Valpas gets the win for me - absolutely stunning Galadriel.

Honorable mentions go to Cyberalien - the best actual white in the contest, IMO, but Gil-Galad does not seem the type to wear mascara to me :P , and Gandlaf the Grey for an overall very good mini, with a beautiful cloak, but a face which is a bit odd.

And of course all the others are a thousand times better then what I could do, too.

Joshua_AU is the best by far IMO.

Valpas is the best! The pics of Gandalf on shadowfax are too small!

This is a painting competition, not photography.

Go rightclick on it and choose "show image", that should help you having a bigger image.

In other news: A very tough competition again and a lot of fantastic entries. For me it was Jamros or Crixalis, who both have done a fabulous job. But since I have only 1 vote, it goes to Jamros for the very realistic face of his Saruman!

Next to all these other guys, my "white" mini isn't looking so white after all. Oh well, at least it prompted me to get some more painting in, I'll make sure I fulfil the brief properly next month! ;)

Not sure where to stick my vote to be honest, its all pretty even. JOSHUAR_AU's looks like it could be really good, but its hard to tell without a closer picture, and there are quite a few others which could be just as good as well... will spend a little more time before casting my vote.

It was between Joshar_AU and Crixalis for me.
Really tough to decide but I went for Josh in the end because of very smooth and outstanding paintwork :D (Plus it was a little more white)
Well done all :yay:

You can click on the photo to go to a bigger version, I will do individual photos next time rather than the collage

Well done again Josh - try working on the mane a bit more in the future as it looks a bit flat to me. You get my vote for the best layering.

Valpas picked the best sculpt I think but Josh did a bit better blending the whites from what I can see.

Legolas31 - That mini is fantastic! You would have got my vote but it just looks like a white drybrush all over and I would have liked to see a few different shades and as it is a painting comp, the vote has to go to someone else :(

Here is the best pic out of the collage so you can see it better. I hope this is allowed, its one of the same photos that I already submitted. If not, feel free to delete this reply DMS

Thanks for the quote. It appears my photo skills have let me down again as the the face isn't like that in reality. Well done to Josh.

Toss up between Gandalf and Grinnah for me. Grinnah just about clinches it, but it was a hard one to call. Well done everyone

Joshuar_au got my vote. I really like the way everything is white but with subtly different tints, like cold white for Shadowfax and warmer for Gandalf's outer cloak. Well done!

Greetings from Naples! I spent half the day today running around the top of Mount Versuvius pretending to be Spartacus. It. Was. Awesome.

Amyway, true nerd that I am I decided (against my better judgement) to turn on data roaming on my hols to vote!

As for who to give my very expensive vote to, white bloke in white cloak on white horse with white staff all wonderfully painted? It's gotta be Joshua for me, wonderful job that makes a mini I really dislike look great - well done mate!

P.S. I hope you appreciate the vote, it's probably cost me about £100! :-)

P.P.S. thanks to all those who voted for me, it really is very much appreciated.

Thanks for all the comments and votes, I have gone with Joshsuar au's as the the shading just looks amazing, dr grants is also very good, the eyes in particular as they are one of the hardest parts of the model to do!
