The leaded lights are done, finally and after much much, almost too much thought.
I've done all windows and below is one of my favourites, the kitchen window. It has its own drain for the sink and I will place a grate on the floor for drainage.
Image
Now I can start putting these together. I've got a new base so it's ready to start taking shape.

Brilliant Big G, the attention to detail is amazing. The lead windows really work

Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. Holidays beckon for me so I doubt you will see anything for a few weeks.
It's the next part I will enjoy, placing all the widows on the board and for it to start making sense.

My last update before a much needed 2 week cruise.

Now you can start to see it coming together. All the window units are in place and the top section is glued in place. When I return I will be going Milliput mad as I mold the area above each window unit and the sections in between.
Looking at the pictures the units look a little all over but trust me, they are in line, it's just the edges to each piece that is giving the impression, and my rough foam cutting...
The front garden areas are still very rough and these will get smoothed out and the stairs will be added.
However that is a way down the line but at least you now get the idea of how this will look with the overall height 75mm above the base and I've still the tree to add. I have no concerns about this though as Bag End is fairly steep from bottom to top.
C&C are much welcome and you can't be too harsh with me.

It looks like it is working out well. 8)
The scale rule helps a lot.
Are you going to add molding or decorative trim to the base board?
I often find it simpler to cut and fit the base and trim early in the process even when it is the last thing finished and attached.
I find it easier to work with white foam if I tape the edge after it is cut to size. The kids like to use duct tape. I like painters tape better. The blue is ok but I like the brown brand best.
I am looking forward to the next post. :yay:

That is a stunning array of mini-dioramas in their own right - alright, they are terrain elements but they have great character even without being integrated into the complete piece. Have fun on the cruise but I am going to hazard a guess that your mind will be turning to Bag End from time to time. Wonderful work!

Thanks fellas
Charlie - I've not given a trim any thought yet as I'm seeing how the final terrain will take shape. I may not fit one. The styrene you see at the very front is likely to be cut away, once I work the slope for the gardens and put the road in I will have a better idea.
Dorth - my mind is always backwards and forwards with thinking about this.

After what seems an eternity I have managed to get some more done. A busy home life is stopping me progressing this as quickly as I would like, but at least it's moving forward.

The path and front step in place, along with the moulding for the grassy banks, so it's taking shape.
My next step is for some chimneys and the well. I will put marker posts for where the hedge and fence will end up so I can look toward adding some colour.
All C&C are very welcome.

This looks excellent.
I'd give my right arm to play a game on this. I'm thinking of "massacre in Hobbiton"*

*250 points of Hobbit militia vs 500 points of encircling Uruk Hai warriors and scouts. :P

I have been looking forward to seeing an update G, I am not disappointed, no c&c needed.
At first glance I thought it was a snow scene. Hope you are well and had a good holiday.

I really like the look of it, I think it's great work and really starting to shape up.

The Hobbits would win - but by the time I've finished you won't fit too many figures on this diorama that easily.

Great holiday thanks Paul. What you see is a coating of polyfilla I applied to give the foam underneath some rigidity. I've also used over 4 packs of Milliput so far and I envisage probably another 3 before I'm finished.
