I have a conversion mood within me and am gonna post my conversions up here.
It wont be regularly updated as sometimes I like painting, other time I like chopping models up, lol

But just thought Id do this thread to hopefully inspire somepeeps to add the odd differnet pose/s to their warbands!!

Lol it's a ranger of the north with an Orc head!!!

I dont think they are that brutal or enjoy holding such trophies ste , Ranger's are honourable defender's and from what ive seen they seem to refrain from giving into the glory and bloodlust of war... unlike the Uruk-Hai who like man flesh.

Sure, they're unlikely to take trophies. But if they've just killed the leader of an Orc warband, I don't think they'd have any qualms about decapitating him and lifting his head for all to see.

And besides, I'm sure the Dunedain have a diverse enough range of personalities to have at least a couple ruthless characters. Maybe a Dunedain lost his family in an Orc raid, and as a result has a vicious hatred for them.


I love that conversion, it looks like hes just decapitated an Orc leader or champion, and is challenging the rest of the Orcs to take him on.

Haha , yeah i suppose. I just thought that the Dunedain dispatch from distance(arrows) rather than up close and personal that's all. Here is a thought an idea use a dunedain(human head) on a Uruk-Hai or Hunter Orc captain holding it up like Ugluk and vice versa like you already have done and put them side by side hehe.

So they're having a "best decapitation" contest?

Nice work! I like the warrior of Lamedn the most because he looks very natural! But the two rangers of the north are good as well!
What kind of sculpting tools do you use? Do you already have 'clay sharpers'? They are very usefull for smoothing and hiding gaps and finger prints, IMO that would give your miniatures a much better look!

Ye. Finger prints are the Bain of my life on GS I've ordered some clay shapers.
At the min I'm just using a small blade and a toothpick lol

Lol it was a ranger...

Captain of Minas Tirith converted from a Guard of the Fountain Court whose spear broke. The fluff for him is that he is the "Captain of the Guard".





The plastic Mines of Moria Boromir on a Moria themed base, multi coloured cobblestone individually carved from a layer of milliput spread over the base and textured with crumpled aluminium foil (inspired by DMS).
