Was over at Dakkadakka and saw this
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/565131.page

http://natfka.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/december-releases-revealed.html

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug book
Legolas Greenleaf (plastic)
Tauriel (plastic)
Palace Guards ( box set)
Mirkwood Rangers (box set)
Thrandul King of Mirkwood (finecast)
Mirkwood rangers captain (finecast)
Palace Guards captains (finecast)
Thrain the broken (finecast)
Beorn (finecast)
Mirkwood spiders (finecast)

So a lot of wood elves coming in Decembers. Very surprised there is no starter, would have loved a wood elve vs orc or spider. Was also planning on that starter to get the new ruleset since I didn't get the last one.

I've seen it too. There was a Barrels out of Bond set too, a little further down than those. I almost missed it. I'm a little disappointed there's no Finecast Thorin's Company yet, well only if this is real. If it is, I'm deeply disappointed as I've waited all year and was hoping it would be out next month. But who knows :-/

Is the barrels out of bond , a diorama? or an actual playable part of an army? ( curious as im a straight up army builder , not at all a diorama collector ) Need to know so i dont buy it accidentally when it comes out.

It just says "Finecast Box". It's in a green text colour, perhaps indicating a special set, limited edition or maybe a diorama. I hope to find out soon :-D

Not exactly, The first rumor I heard was they had delayed a starter set because of the dragon. The Dragon has been delayed according to rumor. The rumor seems to be now that there is no Starter set. I do not have more information than that. We will see when the WD comes out I hope.

speculation
The rumored releases seem to be figures that should have been released if two movies were made instead of three. Maybe there is more to be released after the film. :? We have some kind of Lake-town release to come.I hope :!:

I don't get why people seem to think there won't be any new releases after this. Of course they're going to get the stuff that's been sitting around for a year out first. Since that's already a pretty sizable release, there wouldn't be too much of a reason for them to release more than just this. As for starter sets, we'll likely see one for the third film.

I don't believe they'll stop LOTR until their license expires.

The set has clearly been produced as a box of playable figures, the only thing is that they are only going to be an use in a scenario or points battle with a large fast flowing river traversing it, so generally they are only ever going to be used by someone with access to appropriate scenery as part of a set scenario in a new book (there were no pictures of this yet!). The barrel figures are well sculpted, but I don't fancy dedicating that much time in painting models that in truthfulness I will use once or twice, or maybe not at all!

Hi Bofur, I wouldn't be too upset by the absence of a finecast company as it would have a price tag of £156 for the basic 13 models, which in my opinion is unacceptable!

The pictures from the previous link were removed, but found others here
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/565388.page

I like the look of the elves, especially the palace guards.
Beorn was a miniature I was looking forward too, but I am unimpressed for 30$cdn miniature. He does seem to be quite big if you compare the bases.

@Thermo
Mainly Mordor, but I have some Gondor, Wood elves and Uruk Hai.
