Bard is a must!. I quite like the bear pose although I do already have a bear model that would suit for now.
Also Leggy Tauriel and Rangers coming my way very soon methinks

Where'd you get the bear? I want Beorn, but I really don't like the model for him.

Ha ha , that sounds very elitist SM .... First of all this was the case then in order to break after two hurls they would most likely ( if they were foolish enough ) need to position the Ranger's in a diagonal "Bishop" or horizontal "Castle" like line on the terrain , so you can basically play "bowling" as the hurl cannot travel in an arc only a straight line. Secondly you would find it hard to catch up to them as effectively they can kite you in the woods considering you are moving at half distance and they are not , while constantly taking pot shots at you till they have retreated to their far end of the board at which point they will most likely engage you if you have surrounded them enough. Thirdly and finally on top of that your monsters would have trouble moving directly through the Mirkwood woods , and may need to pivot around the trees to find big enough gaps. That is the tactic i would do if i was using an all Mirkwood Army , maybe ally in Bard.

I guess this all depends on what six monsters you shall choose

Once they kill three monsters you will also break 8)

Legolas can do a whole load of wounds for just three shots per turn.

Arg, every picture apart from the Gundabad Orcs loaded fine, they are the only thing I really wanted to see.

Are the pictures dead for anyone else?

The Mirkwood Rangers are the best sculpts not just of the release, but the range, they are perfect. The rest is alright, it just lacks that wow factor that they have. I think the Tauriel model needs the boobage reduced, they're huge compared to the actress'. Legolas is a bit pudgy for an Elf, so i'll give him a miss. Thranduil looks like the actor in the film, but his arms are freakishly long. The Palace guard aren't my cuppa tea, i'll give them a miss. Thrain is alright, nothing spectacular. Beorn is nice if a bit unadorned.

The Spiders are nice, if a bit big. Its a shame thats all that Evil got this time around.

The orcs image won't load for me either. Now that folks have the book hopefully we will get better quality pics of these newer releases. I still want to see what Beorn looks like unpainted/bare on the sprue...same with Thrain.

Only armies that have ever beaten the monster mash are Ferals, Fellbeasts, and Blackmists gobbo hoard. Played elves loads of times and almost always table them with only zero to two casualties taken. Yolololololo #swag

In all seriousness, terrain rarely means anything against my monsters, objectives mean that placing your whole army in the forest is only effective in one of 6 (now 9) scenarios otherwise you lose out on the objective.

I would use the body of UKfreddybear's "MajesticBear" with the head of the Beorn model , personally. The Weta design of the head of the bear looks alot more threatening. The result would be a more striking model :)

There isn't anywhere I don't ship to. Only one or two Bears left though and once they are gone it will be quite a while before they appear again just like the Tree giants. I'm deliberately running all of my stock down to zero.

Two reasons, a) I make more money doing commissions than I do from miniature sales because there are no overheads. b) I am looking to put majestic bear into hibernation as I enter a new business opportunity with someone else.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I was planning to purchase your bear myself but I do understand

Thanks chaps. The line may resurface under the new partnership if there is enough demand. But that's probably still months away from happening yet. Anyhow, back on topic. I don't want to hijack this thread :-)
