Curious to see peoples opinions ;)

My most hated have to be Mauhur, from Isengard (looks horrendous IMO compared to the other Uruk heroes), and Theodred just because they gave him such a horrible face!

Arathorn, only because of the beard. It suits a dwarf better.
Mauhur too. The pose... It's just, ugh.
Who else? I'm sure I've got more :-/ I'll think of some later.

Have to agree on Arathorn. The rest of the mini is fantastic but that beard is just ridiculous.

Definitely the Black Númenóreans. Those ridiculous helmets, the terribly impractical swords and that unrealistic armour. Some of the few models I wouldn't even contemplate buying, unless to convert extensively.
Several models have some small issues, but these have barely any acceptable parts as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure I agree with the plastic fellowship. I'm not a fan of some of the faces, but I really like the poses (bar Aragorn's) and it's one of my favourite Gandalf the Grey minatures. Personally the models I like the least are new Hunter Orcs. I can appreciate that they're very well detailed, but they seem to have very odd proportions.

At least in the LOTR/Hobbit universe GW's worst excesses are curbed. There is nothing in Morgoth's deepest pit nor his darkest imaginings that comes close to the horror of this dross:

Most of the LotR and Hobbit ranges are decent minis, some are superb but there are a few I will never get, like the GW fabrications, e.g., the Castellans of Dol Guldur (Warhammer rejects pile). There are some sculpting mishaps (Monkey Twins anyone?).
As for other GW ranges, I just do not care.

I don't think there is many gw LOTR/ the hobbit models I think of as truly ugly. But if I was to pick one it would be the Black Númenóreans.

I always thought the metal Swan Knight helmets were just stupid. Plastic version much better

I agree with the black numenorean call! The old Suladan too… was never a fan of the Theodred models, or the helmet cloth Arnor helmet thing… The old Giant spiders are rubbish to look at and don't fit in… Kardush the fire caller has never done it for me with the fireball coming out of his hand… or the Angmar Orc Shaman… just doesn't fit in!

The warg marauder is a strange one, as is the Gundabad blackshield shaman (notice the theme here!)

Probably my calls!

The original Thranduil, hideous He-Man sculpt, the worst.

The Dark Marshal, unless you don't think of it as a Ringwraith, its pathetic

I truly hate the Spider Queen, and use Shelob for the profile, who is awesomesauce.

Also, what on earth was going on with this Frodo's face? Especially considering that the others of this series are truly amazing sculpts that capture the faces of the actors SO well.

No paint job can make this face look good, but this guy has done an admirable job.

Seriously, wtf?

I agree. Theodred was just so different to the rest of the LotR heroes it was quite jarring. I'm going to convert mine so he has a Royal Guard Helmet.

You might be able to use a helmet from Gripping Beast or Warlord - the Saxon and Viking versions look sufficiently Rohanish to fit the bill.

I agree on Theodred. Well, at least he's been taken from the GW site now.
