Hi. I know to strip models you should use simple green. I live in New Zealand, and have used simple green cleaner but it just doesn't seem to clean off very well.

I give the models a good soak (some have been in there for months) and a vigorous scrub but it doesn't come up like new. Often it never strips the black undercoat. Generally I can get most of the colours though.

Purchasing models from ebay that have been stripped they tend to be virtually 100% clean so hence my question.

Is there something I am missing or perhaps NZ's simple green is not the same as that elsewhere?

Regards

Hi!

There was a thread dedicated to this. I'll post the link for you.

http://www.one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=26849&hilit=stripping+paint

Btw I just normally soak them in dettol for three hours (but I can't assume that you have that in NZ as I am in the UK)

Regards
