This blogs still alive. Hobby time has been short as of late. I managed to net some miniatures for Christmas for the first time in about 10 years+, seriously. Although I'll admit I've never actually asked for miniatures or anything in 10+ years. Proud owner of Wargs, Hunter Orcs, Hunter Orcs on Wargs and a pair of Great Eagles. Nice. Should get to those some time in the Spring...

As of now I have a relatively large horde of miniatures needing attention so wont be buying anything new for the rest of the year.

Here's the latest on the Galadhrim, I've got another box of Warriors and also a Cavalry box to keep this skirmish force going. Can't wait to do some converting and sculpting with them...

They are truely some of the best (or actually the best) painted plastic Galadhrim I have seen so far! I am really looking forward to seeing more of them and especially the conversions....

Thanks Son of Fundin. I don't class myself all that great a painter, I just enjoy it!

These Galadhrim were ridiculously simply, I'll get a tutorial for them soon.

Those are fantastic! Excellent painting and I especially love the way you did the armour. I notice you might be doing a tutorial soon but could you give me a quick run-through of how you did the armour? I have Armoured Haldir with Bow and 12 metal Galadrhim that I will hopefully get round to this year.

Btw I love your Fallen Dwarves minis! :)

One thing I have just regognized: Is it possible that you forgot the last silver akzent on the bowmens' armour? They look darker and not as shiny as the other ones.

Btw: Maybe not a great painter, but surely a good one and a great sculptor... 8)

Lovely stuff, the red/blue scheme suits them well.

Thanks a lot guys!

The spearmen and archers are still in progress so that accounts for any difference with the swordsmen. That said, I still need to add foliage to all the swordsmen bases.

For the armour it's simply a base colour block of Balthasar Gold washed with Brown Ink, then highlighted with Runefang Steel. It's an old Brown Ink I use, you wont get the same effect with the current Citadel Washes. I'd recommend experimenting with actual artists ink (it's the same thing as far as I'm aware).

Those Galadhrim are nice, I've got a box of plastic ones coming to complement my small force of 6 metal models, Standard bearer and Haldir so I'm looking forward to painting them and seeing how differently they come out with the new scale mail.

Very awesome color choices, well executed. You have probably answered this before, but what are you using for the foliage?

I've not actually decided yet, I have a small selection of stuff (natural lichen and synthetic turf) to choose from. It will tie in with the forest terrain but that's a while off.

What about using some grass tufts and flower tufts to add a little colour to some perfect figures.

Probably more of a dark/moody vibe than flowers and grassy meadows but I'll decide at a later date. I'll experiment with small dry leaves as well.

I missed out on a lot by not seeing this thread! I absolutely love what you've done with your goblins, the sculpting work is excellent and the reposing/re-arming is brilliant. Very inspirational stuff, it's making me look twice at those goblin minis which I didn't initially like much.

Very nice elves, too, which is something a gnarly old orc like me doesn't say often.

Hi MOTN

I've really "fallen" for your Fallen Dwarves... Please pardon the pun! I'm looking forward to ordering some from anvil for my WOTR army! I've noticed on your blog that you have some two handed weapon versions planned, have you got any prototypes?
Cheers
:-)
