Hello all, figured I'd start up a thread to keep track of my entry to this year's Tale of Gamers campaign. This time round I'll be going to battle with a staunch force of Erebor Dwarves!

Painted pics to follow later this weekend but for now I thought I'd post some pictures of the conversions I've been working on; for this project I want every dwarf to be individual and unique, so no two-poses-the-same or twins will be showing up in my army! :P

To follow: painted Warriors of Erebor, young Balin, and Dwalin on pony!

I like the idea of different poses and you have converted these very well.

The 2 last ones? Are they grimhammer conversions?
I like all of your changes to the models, it serves them right.

I really like the new Dwarf miniatures so can't wait to see how these turn out, looking good so far.

I too like the new dwarf minis based on the movie costumes. They are more formidable than the LotR dwarf warriors and rangers - I think they look slightly taller too but could someone post up a photo for comparison if you have got some of each - thanks.

Thank you very much for the kind comments everyone. There are indeed a couple of grimhammer bodies scattered about in there, and there'll be some more to come. They'll be the few that were lucky enough to escape with/save up enough pennies for a full set of armour instead of just making off with a helmet like their comrades :P

These look good. I like the extra attention you've given to the bases.

Looking good, Knighty! Where have you been, by the way? I've been back a couple of weeks and haven't seen you around...

These look great Knighty, really nice work, particularly on the skin and hair - great stuff!

I hope to see them in the flesh at a tourney soon!

I like these a lot. I'm the type of guy who hates when people over paint and over color just for the sake of doing it. Your coloring is nice and still well done even though its simple. Its simple that its not over the top. Very nice detail on everything. I love the basing!

I like seeing more natural colours in the mix - too many people paint dwarves in screamingly bright colours. Nothing wrong with some bright motifs or parts of the attire but natural colours or more muted versions of reds, blues, even yellows can all work very well. The latest two look like they are wearing some sort of leather or heavy cloth - very suitable for the middle of a battle field. Well done.

Mounted Dwalin looks awesome! Are you gonna do Thorin and Balin on ponies too?
