CG - the phrase that comes to mind cannot be used in polite company or on a family friendly site.
'You lucky £$%+!!. You lucky, lucky £$%+!!.'

It is a stunner. Gothmog was one of the uber-baddies of the Silmarillion, chief of all Balrogs and basically next in the chain of command after Morgoth, equal or maybe even greater in status than Sauron.
But then he was defenestrated by Ecthelion... :)

Balrog Banking - you would not want to default on that loan, would you?

Hoping to get some pictures up tomorrow, I just need the flock the last of the Fallen Dwarves and I've already assembled the Dweller. I also expanded my backlog recently with some GW purchases and a cracking deal at Vapnartak.

Edit: Here are the WIP pictures the the dwarves, these will get flocked today so completed pictures should be up in the next couple of days:

This is next on the to-do list, I've been putting him together between coats of paint:

Finally here is the new backlog (well they do say you'll never be finished), first photo is the haul from GW whle the second is what I managed to grab at the show:

Looking very promising! Can't wait to see the finished product!!! UKFB's and DMS's Gothmog is going to be in the final army too, right? Is that a Dweller in the Dark that will be accompanying your army?

That's correct, I'm actually thinking about getting another Dweller at some point.

Tonight I finished my Fallen Dwarves, I've enjoyed painting these the most out of all my current armies so it feels a shame to come to and end. However enough of the dilly daddle and on with the photos:

Here's an army shot:

And I just couldn't resist this one:

Overall I'm really pleased with how they look together.

Finally just a quickie of the current WIP:

I'm actually a little torn on how to paint him so some input would be great, do I go with the mini Balrog look or should I try something along the lines of a shadow beast using midnight blue and shadow grey washed black?

Great work all round - the Dwarves are nice minis painted beautifully. In regards to the Dweller's paint job, it's a difficult one. One thing I would say is do you want a "mini Balrog" sitting beside Gothmog in all its DMS painted glory? It might also look a bit better to add more variety in terms of colour to your force by going with a "Shadow Being" look.

TBH, I've never cared much for the Dweller; always thought it was a weird thing for GW to release but that's probably just me. It is a nice pose and overall a pretty nice mini, I simply have never seen the draw to it, but not being a gamer perhaps has something to do with it...

Cheer chaps,

Well I made a start on the Dweller layering up the colour and then washing it back down to an almost black. The effect to the eye looks great but unfortunately it doesn't show up on the camera too well:

After seeing how he looked tonight with the paint dried I'm going to attempt to paint the internal fire on him as he's just missing something at the moment, let's hope I don't mess him up!

The Dweller in the Dark is actually an attractive mini - menacing, it looks ancient, undernourished and hungering for flesh....

:boo:

You know what I mean - it looks the part!

I don't post often in this forum because my talents are so weak in this hobby and I'm embarrassed to say anything in this section, but I think your fallen dwarves are some of the coolest looking pieces I've seen on this site. I think its such an awesome idea and color scheme. Nice work. And what can I say...I'm a sucker for crossbows.
