Low defense. If you go at them with a force of all wood elves make sure to have lots of bows Im sure Mirkwood rangers would rip them to pieces.

Also, be careful at having low model count. Funny thing is, what I told you....the elves...you will have a low model count.

When you say units and points are undecided are you not sure what forces you are buying or actually have some and not chosen?

If I know more I can help more

Low defence, str 3, low courage, and no reliable fighty heroes. Going on that terrifying heroes, high strength/defence warriors, and combat heroes are what you want. Also the spell 'cast blinding light' leaves harad at a loss.

Hi I have:
Lothlorien&mirkwood:
Legolas
Galadriel
12 Galadhrim Warriors
6 Galadhrim Knights (1 banner,3 EBlade,2 EBow)
4 Guards of the Galadhrim court
3 Wood Elf Archers

Eregion&Rivendell:
Gil-galad
Elrond
High-elf Captain
13 High elves (4 with Eblade,4 with Ebow,6 with Spear+shield)
1 High Elf Banner

500 points is standard? (I think)

Considering your options, perhaps something like:

Galadriel
12 Galadhrim Warriors

Legolas
3 Galad Knights
2 Galad Knights + Bow
4 Guards of the Galadhrim Court
1 Wood elf with bow

Galadriel can shut off their shooting and disable their heroes. Legolas is generally good. There is some points left over and if you can find another Galadhrim warrior or use rivendell as proxy you can add that in. Might be low on numbers but I would rate this better than the High Elves against Harad and Umbar 8)

Well, since Corsairs are pirates, I'd expect they have a weakness for rum...

Use units that can last and have bow power.
I would recommend Gondor. Citadel guard to penetrate D5 troops, maybe some rangers to get lots of hits on the weaker units. Both of those units have F4 which helps alot against Umbar. Also use lots of WOMT.

This is how I would set it out. Front rank is purely WOMT with shield and sword. The second rank is rangers with spear and Citadel guard with spear and bow. This is a very solid force. You have high Fight value, high defense, high shooting and your archers are well protected. You may want to keep cavalry to a minimum just to increase your number of units which harad usually wins out on. Maybe a few cavalry units would be good to hide behind your main force in order to soften their cavalry charge.

I guess it all depends what the scenario layout is.

Regarding bows: harad have a 50% limit and have poisoned arrows, I would not try to out shoot them.

Even a lowly cave troll will be out-fighting all Harad & Umbar models and wounding most on 3's. Stick with monsters with possibly the Shadow Lord for anti-archery.

For your Elves definitely take Galadriel and cast channeled blinding light. Galadhrim Guard would be usefull to out-fight some of Harad's fv 5 models. Gil-galad would wound all troops on 3's...

Thanks guys. I unfortunalty dont have a monster (Only a Balrog.) But I would like to take Galadhrim Knights, Is Harad mainly cavalry? so knights might not work so well. Archers? Someone mentioned 50% Limit and poisoned arrows, So would bringing archers be pointless? Arbalesters?. Also Heroes: Gil-Galad?Elrond?High elf captain?Legolas?Galadriel?Gandalf the white mounted?

No. Harad will spam you with troops. They are weak low point cost models but have amazing bowfire rates.

You can bring archers but follow what they said and try to bring anti bowfire models like the Shadow lord Galadriel or tank models like Dwarven guys with shields. The advice given so far is good though^

And Legols never hurts. Arbalesters are also good for anti archery.

Tell that to all my poor goblins whose lives have been taken by that sneaky elf's bow skills, also it is true he never hurts your own guys which is funny as he is effectively the only good model who can shoot into combat.

As someone who plays Harad regularly I would say these ^guys^ are on the right lines! Basically if your up against regular Harad with a lot of bows then disable their shooting and run them down with cavalry! However if you find yourself against a Mumak then just take Legolas and remember, it still only counts as one....
