An Olympic Gold Medallist in the field of article writing!

This is so incredibly well put together Brian, there is so much useful information in here that it has to be one of the cornerstones of the Library. I have watched it grow from its earliest stages and enjoyed its progress towards the masterepiece it is now.

The finished results are stupendous and we can all learn some new tricks from it. I have a few tree stumps that I was wondering what to do with - now I know!

Simply marvellous, the best article I've read in a while! This has certainly given me much further insights in the art of basing! The end results are remarkable, thanks for sharing :)

Hi Rutta. In my opinion it was a splended article, but has a couple of problems. You mentioned that you could get the grass and such at most hobby stores, but I called 2 and they didn't know what I was talking about. Does BGBM carry it?

I looked for a toolbox similar to yours at 4 hardware stores, but they didn't have it either. Is there an online retailer that carries them?

Where can i get this Silly Gum? I looked on 2 web pages about molding and neither made reference to this product.

I don't mean to sound like i'm a perfectionist, but i just couldn't find this stuff.

Fantastic article, Brian! Your tremendous love for detail shines through again. I got myself some DarkAge bases lately and I can't wait to make them look (nearly) as good as yours now. Keep it up!

Yes, the static grass is from the BGBM basing kits.

I have hunted all over the net for this and simply cant find it, not even on the website of the actual shop where I buy it.

Overall Nick, I think you are greatly missing the point.
The article was not meant for you to buy exactly the same products as me !
The article is not about using the products that I use, its about giving you ideas and for you to substitute products for whatever you can get your hands on in your area of the world.

@Everyone else...
Thanx for the kind comments guys, hope it gives you some ideas !

Rutta you make everything look SOOOOO easy.

This guide makes even me think I could produce a decent base.

I am so inspired I might even have to buy a tool box to keep my bits and pieces in.

It is so wierd in that I have kept old brushes, sponges etc as I know they could be used. I have bought Flock and Static grasses. Many a bottle of wine has been drunk in the pursuit of cork but I have [corrected HAD] no idea how to use any of them.
Problem is now solved.

All I need now is the talent... mmm I wonder if Tobold or Peregrin could do an article on that :)

Woodland Scenics is an American company that sells model scenery material all over the world. Their products are among the best quality you can get, are readily available in model railway specialist shops and ar ereasonably priced too.

But they aren't the only suppliers of this sort of thing - Heki is a German company that produces an excellent range of products that compliment the Woodland Scenics range. And Antenociti Ltd also have a great range of scenic materials too. Heki's stuff is readily available from the same place as Woodland Scenics (model railway shops), and Antenociti have their own website as well as sell through Ebob (?) and BGBM.
